This week was very diverse in the activities that I did. The court review for Jamarion Lawhorn was very interesting. His case happened 3 years ago when he stabbed a boy at a playground and the victim died. Lawhorn was waived as an adult in the case. This reflects the juvenile and adult systems which I was taught about in my classes. When he turns 19 he will be done with the juvenile home and at that time they will have to decide what to do with him. He could still potentially get prison time as an adult. It was nice to know about the systems and how they worked to really understand what could happen in his case in the future.…

Through this mode of growth, the firm improved the value of shareholders since the power and efficiency of the merged companies are better than the individual companies working separately. As a result, the value was captured in the anticipated synergies where the results of these mergers were evident based on the accelerated growth in revenues, profits, and assets. In addition, the mergers, especially the merger between world com and MCI, brought together two firms that have complementary strengths and assets (Hitt & Harrison, 2001). Through these mergers, the shareholders’ value was improved through operational cost reduction including, the reduction in reduced leased lined costs, and elimination of expensive terminal charges both locally and internationally. Also, the mergers eliminated duplication of activities and investments, adoption of best practices while sales and marketing forces have meshed thus making the established market channel to be better established. Moreover, the mergers and acquisitions helped the firm minimize the competition in the market, instantly add new brands to the firm’s product portfolio, instant access to fresh customer base and expansion to new geographical locations, gaining economies of scale over a reduced period of time, injection of new and diversified management skills and significant reduction of time to market thus giving the firm the competitive advantage (Gaughan, 2013). All these merger outcomes are value-adding since they enable merger process meet the characteristic of the value adding…

I attended a TAMU Equestrian Team show on the morning of the fifteenth of September. I got the opportunity to see firsthand how a horseback competition is run and judged. I also got to observe a typical reining show and saw the different formations that were graded. I was amazed to see the horse spin around several times and still can gallop in a straight line afterwards. Most of the athletes received a score range between 690-720. I personally do not know what the score means, but I did notice that the athletes that performed more gracefully in their formation will receive a higher score than those that performed less gracefully. In addition, I also got to witness the strong bond between the girls on the equestrian team. They were cheering…

Sylvanas had walked up to me, retrieved my bow from me, collected my arrows, and let loose on the target, hitting every shot fired. I tood in awe at her performance, her unrivaled expertise, kneeling in front of her, I had asked her if could have personal lessons with her, For I thought that the lack of people would help improve my focus.
