Introduction

Video Games
What is your most played video game? How video games do affects you? How did it all begin? Who were the significant people who introduced video games to us? And what are the important games of the past that shaped the way games are made today?
These are the questions that we made and we are going to answer all of it throughout the discussion for us to be enlightened and appreciate all of the video games that we played. What is video game?
Now, let us define what is video game? According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, a video game is an electric game played by means of images on a video screen and often emphasizing fast action. For a practical explanation, a game is a video game when the action of the game takes place interactively on screen. That takes care of the technologically based half of the word ―video‖ but what is a game? A video game is a game when a player has direct involvement in the on screen action to produce some desired outcome.

Genres of video games
Most of video games are embedded with particular genre or even two or more genres. The following is a description of some important genres of video games and the games that either introduced or popularized them.

Adventure
Adventure genre describes a manner of gameplay without reflex challenges or action, it is simply requires the player to solve puzzles by interacting with people or the environment. It has 3 subgenres: real-time 3D adventures, text adventures and graphic adventures.
Because of the Myst, the best-selling pc game in 1993, the genre peaked in popularity.

Action
Action game is very dominant in any other game; it includes first person shooter, action-adventure, combat simulations, fighting games and also platform games. Games in the action genre are typified by fast-paced combat and movement.
