Billionaire Lyrics Analysis
In the song by Travie McCoy and Bruno Mars, titled “Billionaire”, the artists sing and rap lyrics that oppose practicing competitive elitism and individualism. In the music video, the two use a plethora of imagery and colloquial language to advocate being one with their audience. First and foremost, the video blatantly promotes a sense of belonging by having clips of the artists hanging out at a skate park and a beach with people who looks to be college aged. These two settings basically went back and forth throughout the entire production. The people did not seem to be excited because of the musicians’ presence, instead they continue to skate and drink beer as if it is a normal day.
