This assignment proved to be a very difficult one for me, for the very fact that I just don’t watch a lot of television at all. I don’t find much of anything at all that is entertaining to me. So many of the sit coms today have such a dysfunctional portrayal of families and I find that many of them down right degrade and show nothing but disrespect for the father’s especially. Nonetheless I chose to use “The Cosby Show” as my program of choice because it is one I used to watch when I did find time for television viewing and found it somewhat entertaining.…

In this speech, Cosby was highly critical of some members and subsets of the African American community in the United States. He criticized the use of African American dialect, the prevalence of single-parent families, the emphasis on material gain at the expense of necessities, and various other social behaviors. Bill Cosby was effective in his speech because he combined a humorous approach with an emotional and logical appeal, that kept his audience engaged and interested in his speech.…

Many know Bill Cosby from his success as an America comedian, actor, author, etc, but what he's best at is providing his many words of wisdom as an African America educator. Bill Cosby address to the National Association for Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) on the 50th anniversary of Brown vs. Board of Education goes down as one of the top speeches in America. His speech given at this ceremony was directed straight to the younger generation of the African-American community. He begins the speech with a statement he heard a prize fight manager say to his fellow who was losing badly, “David, listen to me. It's not what he's doing to you. It's what you're not doing.” This statement was a very significant feature in this speech because it centers around many things he mentions such as the school drop-out rates and juvenile delinquencies and young women and men disgracing themselves. All those things are what generates the speech as a whole. Cosby main reason and focus was how African-Americans were putting higher priorities on other things such as music, fashion and money other than education,…

My observation is based on the biography of Dr. Bill Cosby. Cosby has been a great example of what a father and leader in the community is all about with regards to the Christian worldview. Even in his hay days, in the mid-60’s, as a standup comic he was regarded as a PG comic because his material was clean of profanity and focused more on his personal life and experiences as a father. In 1965 he released comic albums that garnered him six Grammy Awards. His work was highly respected and he eventually ended up on television, becoming a successful actor as well.…

Ethically, I believe that it is important to be honest with the public in this case. I believe that our firm should consider going forth with this campaign in an effort to restore the player’s reputation by admitting guilt and publically announcing that the player will seek proper counseling. The best way to do this is in the form of a press conference where the player addresses the issues head on and welcomes a number of questioning from the media. This will humanize the player. It is my opinion that the public opinion of this player can be restored and the player can then later take part in…
