Bill Brryson Biography
It would be nearly impossible to document every occurrence from ~13.7 billion years ago (the proposed beginning of the universe) to the present; however, comedic author Bill Bryson manages to provide great intellectual insight into many complex topics while still making entertaining remarks. Although he may be no expert in the arcane fields of quantum physics or mathematics, Bryson relied on a wide variety of sources (e.g. scientific research papers, interviews with experts) to compile this readily accessible account of “nearly everything.” To ensure that the reader best understands this mind-boggling information, the book first gives an introduction to truly emphasize how miraculous this particular combination of atoms (the universe). What’s even more remarkable is the fact that scientists are able to make astounding discoveries, which may seem inconceivable. History as we know it all started with a big bang some billions of years ago. During this time, almost all the matter that has ever existed and still exists was packed into an extremely dense …show more content…
As a lifelong-learner, I have always been interested in many different fields, however, being the sophomore that I am, I still have a few years before I begin my serious education. By reading this book, I am able to come across mind-boggling facts while expanding my horizon of knowledge. It’s really neat to have the opportunity to know about topics that the vast majority of the population could never comprehend. I also feel as if I am gaining a better perspective on the universe and life. As someone who always asks the question “why?,” it’s exciting to take a step closer to the answer. In reality, many of these questions may never be answered, but that’s the beauty of it. Life should always hold some mystery. If everything was crystal clear, the world would be such a boring place and great innovation may never

It made me have to stay for the explanation. I like books and find quite a bit of interest in them. However, all the books aren’t always that good, but this book has been a really great book so far. 5. When did the Big Bang occur? Space and time were created in the Big Bang. At the beginning of the universe, the space was completely filled with matter. The matter was originally very hot and very dense and then expanded and cooled to eventually produce the stars and galaxies we see in the universe today.…

“A book is a gift you can open again and again,” wrote Garrison Keillor. People read all the time. They read for information, for escape, for entertainment, for instruction, for guidance. They read recipes and tweets and texts. They read newspapers, blogs, and Facebook replies. In a recent survey by Pew Research, the number of people who actually read a book in the past year was 72 percent in 2015. I am one of those. As I consider my reading experiences, I realize they represent the journey I have traveled, leading me to my current academic path.…

The curiosity humans have in our origin and worth has led to a remarkable search for answers to big questions about history starting from the very beginning. Big history cosmology looks to answer some of the biggest questions humans have about the universe. In this paper, big history will be explored through the formation of the current U.S. one cent coin or more commonly referred to as a penny. The big bang theory is a scientific origin story, based on real evidence which explores history in thresholds from the big bang to present. Thresholds are time periods that break up history into sections and each one is marked by significant pivotal events and emerging properties. Each threshold is connected to the last and accumulated ingredients led…

I also think the reason of why this book had to be read was because we all have to find out the rhyme and reason to our lives at this time in life. I am on to the next step in my life and this step is better known as college. This book, The Phantom Tollbooth, showed me a great way how to find out what to do with my life. All I need to do to find out is to dig down in my brain deep enough and we all can find a plan if we do the same thing. I think this book also shows that no matter what happens, we always have to…

Talking about the universe is always a mysterious subject for us. There are lots of theories about the universe by different scientist. Nobody actually knows the reality. Like the universe the topic,” Black Hole”, is also mysterious. We know what black hole is but we are not able to give the detail information about it. As everybody says that,” black hole is a region in space that has an indefinite density and the gravitational force that does not let anything escape from its influence that includes light too”. There is kind of debate among the scientist about considering sun as black hole. Many believe that the mass of the black hole is 10 times more than that of the sun, so we cannot consider sun to be the black hole. There is question in everybody mind what is black hole? , how it is originated? , what black hole able to do?…
