I am writing this paper based on the comparsion of two religions; the Islamic faith and Christianity, also comparing two great leaders who gave their life for civil rights and justice to man-kind as a whole. Both coming from a Baptist background and
Afro-Americans. Their christianty and islamic beliefs brought world leaders to know that they have a strong connection together. By me being Catholic/
Prostestant of faith I gained a excellent outlook of the Islam religion and practices, the peoples as a whole and the unity of both religions.

The three sections of the Hebrew bible are the Torah (the Teaching), Nevi’im (the Prophets), and Ketuvim (the Writings)(Molloy,2013). These sections are also known as Tanakh or Tanak. The sacred core of the Hebrew Bible is the Torah. The Torah consist of the stories of Adam and Eve, the creation, Hebrew patriarchs and matriarchs, Noah and the Hebrew’s early ancestors (Molloy,2013). Torah also introduces the lawmaker Moses and his brother, the founder of priesthood Aaron. Books in Torah include: Genesis (Bereshit), Exodus (Shemot), Leviticus (Vayiqra), Numbers (Bemidbar)and Deuteronomy (Devarim) (Molloy,2013). The second part of the Tanakh is known as the Prophets. Prophets spoke in God’s name to the Jewish people (Molloy, 2013). Nevi’im focuses on the Israelite kingdom history. The Writings is the third part of the Tanakh. The Writings involves poetry, reflections on life, short stories, proverbs, and hymn (psalm) lyrics (Molloy 2013).…

How that even though these two religions have differences that they have core similarities and history that show that they have more in common than they do not have in common. I will discuss my interview at a Christian church and what I learned from it. Then I will discuss how much all the religions I have studied in this class have in common. Touching on their philosophies, beliefs, virtues and traditions and any areas that show areas they have in common.…

"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God," (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Homosexuality has always been an issue in the “Church”. This raises many questions though. The first question I have is what defines the “Church”? To me, the church is any gathering of people to celebrate the joy and love of Christ and God. However, the Merriam-Webster definition of “Church” is “a body or organization of religious believers as the whole body of Christians,” (Church, Webster’s). Yes, both these definitions are similar, but defining a Church as specifically a group of “Christians” restrains what they are allowed to believe. Growing up a Christian and being “tricked” into what I should believe homosexuality is something that I thought was a sin. But if you use my definition of “Church,” then homosexuality as a sin would be based on each and everyone’s own opinion. You also have to question what is considered a sin. A sin can be as little or as big as you make it. If you consider homosexuality a sin, and therefore the “gay” is not worthy of entering the Kingdom of God, then who is to say that the attorney who represents a cheating husband and lies to make his client win the case is any more worthy to enter the Kingdom? Moreover, if the homosexual man or woman is a closet gay, then does that make him or her anymore worthy because no one knows that they are living a life of sin? Alternatively, is it always a sin no matter what the terms of the…

Islam is a monotheistic and Abrahimic religion that came to fruition by the revealing of the The Word of God, (known in Islam as the Qur’an), through the archangel Gabriel to the prophet Muhammad. Muhammad in Islam is known to be the last Prophet of God and the Qur’an the “complete and universal version of a primordial faith that was revealed many times beforehand in the world to prophets such as: Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus.” They also believe that the previous messages and revelations have been partially misinterpreted or altered over time (Michael A. Cook).…
