Ethical Evaluation of Best Buy In today’s society businesses are out there to make a profit. However, many businesses conduct their commerce trying to bend or perhaps even break the rules in order to gain an advantage in the market. Many get away with cleanly without notice and many also get caught. Those businesses that are discovered often pay multiple consequences such as a possible lawsuit. Then once their behavior is published, even more consequences can arise. They can even be punished by the average consumer that decides not to deal with a company that has unethical behavior. They have their own set of by-laws and code of ethics incorporated into their organization to which their employees are to follow to the best of their ability. On a scale of one to ten, ten being the best, I would give an ethical evaluation of the corporation of best buy a rating of a nine. They have an ethically diverse staff so there is no problem there is obviously no discrimination problems. Every time I enter a Best Buy store I get the best of customer support from the employees. Not only that but they definitely know their information on their products. I can go there and get all the specifications on any television in the building. Most stores I am a little hesitant on taking advice from employees because most just want me to buy their products. At Best Buy the employees won’t stop until their customer is satisfied with the type of product they were looking for. If they don’t happen to have exactly what one’s looking for they will even check their website to see if they have that product because usually the website will carry more products than the store. They will even have the product shipped to you or to their store for you to pick up to one’s convenience. Returns are just as easy if someone is not satisfied with their
