The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, Franklin states, “… it was finally concluded on as a better way, to let it be printed for the future under the name BENJAMIN FRANKLIN…” After James Franklin, Benjamin’s brother, was told he could no longer print his paper, the New England Courant, they decided to print it under Benjamin Franklin’s name instead. They had to preserver through their paper being cancelled. Another example can be seen in Aboard a Slave Ship, by Olaudah Equiano. Equiano states, “In this manner we continued to under-go more hardships than I can now relate, hardships which are inseparable from this accursed trade.” Equiano gives us powerful insight
