Bedroom Observation Paper
For a long time, I thought all good chairs have four legs to stable. But after all the research, studies show that chairs are more stable with three legs. Now that is why my group's chair has three legs. The chairs that I looked at home didn't have three legs but had supporting connectors that held the legs together with stability and support. The group had all seen this in the chairs they had at home and now the way we incorporated the beams, we made sure they were all in the same position so the chair wouldn't tilt over. The chair ended looking like a triangle, and that's good because Ms. Hooper told the class that the triangle was a very supportive shape. I learned that if we wanted our chair to be #1 we would have to make sure we had the right support.

Once we started our group hit an immediate wall because our designs were totally different and we had worked with different people for modeling the design with straws. We skimped a lot on tape on the first few classes because we didn't know how much each tape meter would cost. But when Ms.Hooper told us we didn't hesitate to use as much we could. Our strategy for the model was very useful after the first day

Our designs changed a lot because instead of the four legs we did three. Then we had a back to the chair and then we changed our minds to not having a back. But, then we just added a back for the sake of it. had a problem with the pins and straws because we didn't know how to make them stand up because they were so thin and narrow in shape. The newspaper supports were diagonal and connected through each leg. This was really sloppy because we didn't have enough time to finish.jBut once we started building with the newspaper it was a lot easier, because the newspapers were big and thick. With the pins and straw, it was harder because they were too

First we picked our task as feed the money pig, and decided on our group name as Oink! Oink! Then we brainstormed our ideas and wrote them down. We then wrote our detailed description of our steps from start to finish. Then we completed our materials list to know the materials we got from the teacher and the materials that we would have to bring in. We also completed a list of dates of our project completion goals and testing. Next we began building our Rube Goldberg project. We all bought in the materials we needed for our project along with the ones we got from our teacher. For our first step we set up a small table up on a larger one. Then we taped a Twix box with marble at the top to the small table; we then taped a toilet paper roll to it and used it as a inclined plane. We set ten dominios under it on the table and put a marble at the end of them for our next step. In next step we taped a funnel at the end of the table and set up a mousetrap under the funnel. In our next step we tied a string to the mousetrap and tied the other end to a popsicle stick. We then put the stick on a toilet paper roll, that we used as an inclined plane, and put a golf ball and two marbles at the top of the stick. In our next step we set up another smaller table with two books on it, which were used as tracks for two balls that hit each other. Then we set up playing cards and Jenga blocks to make a track for the ball that falls off the table in our next step. Then in our next step we tied a Jenga block to beads that fall off the larger table. Next we set up a Coke can on a piece of wood used as an inclined plane. We then tied popsicle sticks to the beads and put them under the Coke can for our next step. In our next step we put a piece of wood at the bottom of the inclined plane with the Coke can on it. Then we tied a string to the piece of wood and tied the other end to…

    Robie 1

We began by making a simple full-size prototype with accurate angles and dimensions. We picked out an old chair that was at our dispense and were able to disguise it as the Robie 1 by attaching a long piece of cardboard with vertical dal rods to simulate the rungs in the back. This confirmed our suspicions that the 90° rigid back is uncomfortable and provides no lumbar support. Using the measurements from the dimensioned drawing, we found where the chair failed when compared to the anthropometrics of a human. With the seat at 18" high, it is 1.8" too short for the median man, 3.7" too short for the 99%, and .7" too tall for the 1%. This highlights the necessity for adjustable heights, however, we couldn't pin down how to make that work for a chair like this. Therefore, I will be drawing the chair for myself, with a seat at 20" high. The next issue deals with seat depth. At 17.9" deep, the chair is .8" too long for the median man, 2.7" too long for the 1%, and .5" too short for the 99%. However, after adding in the rule of having a fist-width between your leg and the edge of the chair, the seat is too deep for all of them. For myself, I estimate a necessary seat depth of 15". With a seat width of 15.75", it is 1.55" too wide for the median man, and 4.35" too wide for the 1%, and 1.15" too narrow for the 99%. However, the seat being wider than necessary is no problem, so I will leave it be.…

I agree with your critique, the red door in the background is distracting and the purpose of this assignment wasn't fully met. I like the little details of this image, like the water droplets on the glass and the design of the window. The angle of the shot is nice, but if the background wasn't so busy or if it was blurred out more, it would have easily made a better image. It definitely has potential. Like you said, they could have waited for the sun to come out more to have stronger…

One theme that is great for any age boy is a cabin theme. This is perfect for little boys and older boys because most boys enjoy camping in the outdoors or even fishing or hiking. The best thing about this type of room theme is it can even bring back pleasant memories for each parent. Decorating the room is easy you simply have to find wallpaper borders that remind you of a cabin in the woods, which can be moose or even bears. You can use animal themed bedding or you can choose plaid patterns, which the plaid often reminds you of flannel pajamas that you wear in the winter while camping out. You can add natural accessories or you can buy stuff to help decorate the room, you can even use rustic furniture, such as wooden chests for toys and a log style bed.…

In this candidate’s facility, shift report is being done away from the patient bedside, usually at the nurses’ station, in a doctor’s charting room or outside of the patient’s room in the hallway. When a patient is admitted to Women’s Services at this candidate’s hospital, a flier is placed in the admission folder with the title “Our Promise to our Patients…” The first two bullet points outline our promise to include the patient and their family in all aspects of their care plan. One of those aspects is including the patient and their family—if the patient wishes to include their family—in a bedside report.…

The third grade students observed during the two sociograms were C, K and D (with A and Q). The informal setting sociogram was conducted during lunch time during the first part of lunch, and the formal setting sociogram was conducted the next day during the interactive computer math activity that occurs every day. During lunch the students sit at a two sided table and take up approximately four tables in total. All the students in the summer school program eat lunch at the same time, so the lunchroom is loud and full of activity. Additionally, the lunchroom setting provides the most common places to identify code-switching between academic and informal speech (Wheeler, 2008). While the computer activity is not the best academic situation for…

    Room with a View Essay

The social codes of the Edwardian period governed society, and although adhering to them allowed social acceptance, it also involved the sacrifice of an individual’s essential freedoms. Throughout Room with a View, Forster criticised his society’s contemporary rules and expectations so that he could edify the reader about the institutionalised problems of his era. Forster portrays the class system as a rigid structure valuing status that was ultimately detrimental for one’s sense of fulfilment and individuality. The women in Room with a View are disempowered by social regulations that dominated their ability to behave freely. Although opposing these social codes and attitudes was taboo, Forster values the personal growth that results from questioning these ideals.…
