Baseball Bat Research Paper

In asking the question what materials improvement for sports had made the biggest impact in the last century, the baseball bat is an obvious choice. First off, the word impact to me means the something had a measurable effect on something. The new composite baseball bat, instead of the wooden bats,has had a positive impact in the world of baseball. These composite bats are composed of glass, carbon and Kevlar fibers placed into a plastic mold. This new material is anisotropic, meaning they are designed to bring out stiffness and strength (Mussill). These new bats allow player to hit the ball harder and farther.
