Barack Obama visit Puerto Rico
Obama visited Puerto Rico, there was something like the premier of a movie, it was on every news. There was about a thousand special guests and one of them was the singer and actor Marc Anthony.Obama seemed more interested in talking to Marc Anthony, who he allegedly invited to accompany him on his arrival in San Juan. So it was evident that the President was more happy to talk to him than talk about the colonial problems and criminality. Its seems that everything was linked to attract the votes of Latinos living in the USA. Just the day before his arrival, Obama had visited the state of Florida, where it is estimated that 848,000 people residents are Puerto Rican. This state is a key of what could be a close presidential race, given that he have experiencing very slow economic recovery in the present of his countrycountry. In his message Obama did what was expected apply for Pathos or our sentimental patriotic feeling, full of generalities. On the video of the program The Daily Show show how he trick us with words appeling to our pride“every day, BORICUAS help to write the american history”(daily show n.p.). He even mention JJ Barea and Marck Anthony to let us know that he know our “heros”. But it was just for tricking us?. In the show it was everything a joke but with Ethos, Logos and Pathos. It is interesting the fact that most comedians hide behind their comedic freedom of speech to infringe in hate speech and rhetoric. Mocking other races and making fun of them is a trademark of all comedians that back the democratic party. Examples of this are Bill Maher, Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert, etc. Even more interesting is the fact that in a survey, it was found that 60% of the young democrats get their news from "The Daily Show" and not from real news programs.
