Baking Soda Vs Vinegar
This is one of the most interesting questions scientist ask why does this chemical reaction happen when you mix this stuff together .

Why do baking soda and vinegar react with each other?

This happens because of an acid base reaction and also because baking soda is a bicarbonate and vinegar is an acid and when you mix them together fiss start to show up . What does this have to do with my science fair project?

This has to do with my science fair project because it shows how the volcanic eruption shows in my paper mache projects and since it is going to raise up and fall through the sides i will add red food coloring to look like lava.

And this is a picture of the explanation

Balsamic vinegar is made from the Trebbiano and Lambrusco grapes of Italy's Emilia-Romagna region.) www.wikipedia.com and vinegar reacts to different stuff as well for example if you combine it with baking soda like i said before it fizzes and the more you add the more it fisses but this has to be the same amount as the baking soda it is also used a teeth whitener but i would not really use it i would rather use baking soda and lime because i would not be able to support the taste of the vinegar.Because if i can barely be able to smell it i would not be wanting to put it in my mouth my mouth would not smell really nice after

The results of this experiment generally show the mass of the bottles did not change after the reaction of sodium bicarbonate and vinegar. The reaction is an acid-base reaction, the base being sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) and the acetic acid (CH3COOH) in the vinegar. One of the products of this reaction is carbon dioxide, this happens when the hydrogen atom in the acetic acid meets up with the hydrogen and oxygen atoms in the baking soda to form a molecule of water, while the acetate ion (CH3COO) grabs onto the sodium atom and forms a salt, sodium acetate (C2H3NaO2) . The carbon dioxide molecule, free of its other chemical bonds, can now escape, and bubbles forth as a…

How baking soda works: When moisture is added to the batter, an acidic component (for example: yoghurt, chocolate, buttermilk or honey etc.) The chemical reaction that results is the production of bubbles of carbon dioxide which widen under oven temperatures causing the baked product to grow in size. Baking soda is a single-agent which means that the chemical reaction begins immediately when the ingredients are added so recipes with baking soda have to be made immediately or they will become useless and become flat.…

It was first prepared for commercial distribution by two early New Englanders, John Dwight of Massachusetts and his brother-in-law, Dr. Austin Church of Connecticut. Today the use of bicarbonate of soda is no longer confined to the kitchen. It is used throughout the house, in every phase of housekeeping and personal hygiene. ARM & HAMMER Baking Soda, which was first prepared in a New England village, now is used the world over."…

Today, daily people from instruments around the volcano bring a continuous stream of information to scientists. Although there is very little human activity on the land immediately surrounding Pavlof , the sky above is heavily travelled. Everyday at least 20,000 international airline passengers and dozens of flights loaded with freight fly above the volcano. An eruption at Pavlof that puts large amounts of volcanic ash high into the atmosphere produces air traffic safety concerns and significant financial losses as flights must be rerouted. This is why the volcano receives so much attention from scientists. The steep slopes of no lack any vegetation. All around the volcano is a big layer of volcanic ash and rocks. An eruption in 1999 has left a wide gap of black, volcanic material around the Cerro Negro and there are two smaller volcanos right next to the volcano which were recently formed. Climbing the Cerro Negro is not like any other volcano in Nicaragua. The volcano is only about 500 meters high , the ascent is steep and tough. There is no paved trail; just a merely natural path along a rim that leads to the top. Ascent takes about one hour to the top, and although it…
