From past experiences I have learned the real meaning of respect. This word is more powerful than one can imagine. With respect comes unselfishness. When people respect others, they are treated equally. My mother and father always told me to be tactful in the way I treated others, so I would also be respected. It has worked in the past and will always hold true in the future. If someone respects another with proper judgment, people feel good inside which gives them a sense of integrity. When I give respect and witness how it makes others feel, I feel like more of a person. I feel proud. Honored.…

What does respect mean to you? To me, respect means following the golden rule. It means treating others with kindness, love, generosity, and having polite manners. “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” That is the golden rule, is it not? Who wouldn’t want to be treated with kindness? Who wouldn’t want to be around someone with manners and cleanliness? Respect is being considerate to others and their feelings and beliefs. Respect isn’t just for others though, you need to respect yourself as well; take care of yourself and be presentable. If you would like to be treated with respect, you, first, need to learn to respect yourself and others. Once that is accomplished, others will learn to respect you.…

Respect is something that you should just automatically express to others, but it depends on a lot of different things. It is a two way street. As much as I would always like to be respectful to all people, there are times when a person does something that might take away my respect. Respect is something that everyone in life wants to receive from everybody that they deal with on a day to day basis. From my first hand experience I can tell u that respect is one thing that has to be earned. A lot of people think that people should give them respect just because they are alive well sorry to say it does not work that way , if it worked that easy then respect would mean nothing to anybody. I personally give respect until someone gives me a reason to not respect them. In my personal life experiences I have had a lot of problems not showing respect to my superiors or to my elders who I feel that disrespect me, respecting somebody can be as simple as saying good morning maam or good morning sir. If you show people respect then nine times out of ten that person who you showed respect to not even knowing them will give you the same amount of courtesy and respect that you showed them. Respect in today's armed…
