Backlash Quotes
I have read your book Backlash many times, and each time it gets me! The first time I read it, it changed me in so many ways from judging, knowing your real friends, and learning to not let the little things bother me. They are all great ways to change into a better person. In Backlash you see so many bad things happen to Lara and then at the end it's better! This book has a very good lesson and it really shows at the end.

I’ve changed so much from this book! The main thing I’ve changed from was judging, I used to judge bad. Ever since I read this book I’ve quit. I used to judge people who have bad homes, no clothes, smell, and hair is a mess. Then when I read this book, I quit. The reason for judging in the book was different. Her friends are the ones who judged her. The friends told her to kill herself and she meant nothing to the World. Those words can hurt a lot, and it could have been a joke, but it wasn’t.

Then Bree kind of thought she was too good for Lara, and that Lara needed help. Lara may have had problems, but it made it worse by making fun of her online. Lara also still thought they were friends until she saw what Bree posted. Lara does have problems, and doesn’t think she is worth much and has no friends. Bree should have stood up and helped her and told her positive things not negative things that caused the problem. So, I’ve changed from saying mean things to a person that isn’t having a good day, to positive things that might make their day better. Making someone's day is always a good feeling. Also don’t let the pictures your friends take of you bother you, you are worth so much! Everyone has good and bad days, but its good when you try to cheer them up and make there day a little

When I read this book I thought that it was boring, it turns out that is one of the most incredible books that I have ever read. Sadly to me, the book has quite an expected end, but the story still amazing and worthy of your time and attention. I liked this book mainly because of how different it was compared to my lifestyle and how entertaining it was. Nikki turner didn’t really sugar coat much so I felt I was watching a movie and saw it for what it truly was. Like anyone’s guilty pleasure we all like reality television and it kind of reminded me of just that with fights and drama. The books good points that were how certain events that happen in one’s life good or bad really do shape a person into who they become. Teaching me to not be ashamed of what happens and to only use that circumstance as a motivation of some kind. For anyone that is interested in a gritty, suspenseful, and eye bulging book that keeps you wondering what’s next I would definably recommend this book to that someone willing to take a…

I feel that the character that changed the most throughout the story was Tally Youngblood. At the beginning of the book Tally thought the only important thing in her life was becoming pretty. When Aunt Alexandra moved in with the finches, "[She] fitted into… Maycomb like a hand into a glove, but never into the world of Jem and [Scout]" (Lee 216 Chpt. 13). Alexandra is the epitome of the south. She has hatred towards African-Americans, and she believes that girls should learn to cook and clean and never run around and play with her friends. As for Jem and Scout, they believe that girls can have fun and roughhouse, and think that African-Americans are equal to white people such as themselves. Because Scout believes that her Aunt has the opposite ideas from what Atticus believes, Scout is prejudice against her own family member. This quote helps define the thematic subject of prejudice or understanding people who are different. Scout…

This book is a very interesting read, if you have some self discipline. I mean that you need some self discipline because this book didn't really captivate me in the sense that I couldn't put it down. But after reading it for a while, I started to appreciate the author's way of describing the characters and actions in this book.…

I enjoyed this book thoroughly and always kept me intrigued until the end. It had small twists in it that were rather easy to interpret but it was also very interesting. I don’t particularly relate to this book, although situations that I’ve endured have changed my perspective on life, in a positive aspect, and made me unprejudiced and versatile and not so…

It is possible for someone to become so consumed by revenge that his health suffers. He has been wronged by someone and believe in “tit for a tat”, so they choose getting even instead of forgiveness. This may seem like the easiest and fairest way to live life, but it can completely occupy lives and cloud judgment. Roger Chillingworth chose to take revenge on Dimmesdale (for the affair the minister had with his wife) in Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel The Scarlet Letter. His need for revenge becomes unnatural and his hatred for Dimmesdale eventually ruins him over the course of several years.…

We keep their internal secretions artificially balanced at a youthful equilibrium...’“ (Huxley 110-111). In this excerpt it can be determined that Lenina is incapable of acknowledging the fact that people can appear physically aged. This is due to the reason that the World State does not allow it to happen through a series of scientific methods, which is meant to benefit the society.…

Change is an important part of life. It is very interesting to see how one can change their personality and their beliefs. It is also very fascinating to see how one can realize that this world is not the world that you thought of. In the novel, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Liesel undergoes many changes both as an individual and a character in the story. The protagonist, Liesel evolves from a powerless and meek character to a powerful and more defiant character. Firstly, Liesel transforms from a helpless character to a strong character that is capable of helping others. Furthermore, Liesel evolves from a character that was illiterate to an intelligent character, who understands the power…

She "was living a life based on [them]," (277) much like many other kids. We all are bogged down by what we can't do. It depresses us and thwarts our progression. It wasn't her incapacities that stopped her, it was those around her. She didn't provide "any reasonable explanation for these refusals," and perhaps that is why it drew so much attention. If she had told them why then maybe they could justify her feelings. But not doing so only perpetuated questions and suspicion. The reader can relate to this indecisiveness because we have all experienced a time in our lives when we just didn't care about anything. The quintessential teenager is characterized by a chronic indecisiveness towards life. By exploring this aspect, Kaysen is able to draw the reader closer to her and makes this technique an effective strategy in her…

There are some many stories in this book of women being abused and belittled, which would have made me give up reading it if it had not also had some of the most inspiring stories. Many of these women never gave up. They could easily have let death take them or succumb to the lives they were forced into but they didn’t. We have all heard stories about sex trafficking and how women are treated in these countries but this book brings the tragedies into the spotlight unlike any book I have ever read before. I know that my problems seem small compared to these women and young girls but this book has given me hope that I can overcome my own problems. It definitely teaches a lesson that hope is never truly lost as long as you do not give up.It also shows that evil never really wins.…
