Our childhood plays a significant role in defining the kind of person that we become and the type of life that we live.…
Human growth and development affect daily lives and how a person will develop. My life brought great times and not so good times. With going through these different experiences, it brought about who I am today. I never thought as a child how my choices and experiences would influence my life, as I grew older. Childhood experiences have great influence on how a person grows mentally, physically and, unbelievably, spiritually. I believe that is true in my life due to the childhood experiences I had. A person does not realize how their childhood affected them until something actually occurs, as they grow older. Looking back into my life, I know that even though not all of my experiences were great, they made me who I am today.…
Tiny Tots and Toddlers is a facility that cares for children during parent’s absence while at work. Having a drug free workplace is essential for everyone’s safety on the workforce. Prescription drugs are more readily available then ever today. Recently this corporation has considered implementing policies for a drug-free workplace and mandatory drug testing for new hires. Previous research has shown individuals employed in the United States have been impaired with prescription and illegal or illicit drug use (Frone, 2006). They are taken as stimulants by workers who are…
The policies help to safeguard children because the setting may have a policy that says that the children within their care cannot be collected by any person they are not familiar with unless the child's parent/guardien has given written consent saying who the person is and why they are picking the child up from the setting, this helps to safeguard children because it keeps the children safe from harm and prevents confidentiality being breached because if someone who wasn't the child's parent/guardian came to take the child from the setting and asked for any information about the child, without the consent from a parent/guardian they could then pass the information on the someone who isn't allowed to know anything about the child which could then put the child, setting or the family in danger.…

Many may think we are born to be sociable or how to understand our emotions. But to be honest we are not. As early as infancy in it vital for child care teachers to groomed infants to socialize with others. Lack of social skills infants can grow up to live a lonely life in adulthood. This is the same for emotions if infants are not taught to deal with their emotions at an early age they can live a life of confusion. Infants need opportunities to develop a sense of self, a sense of self, with others, and a sense of self-regulation. When developing a sense of self-regulation infants begin to respond nonverbally and with vocalizations to acknowledge that they see an image of themselves. Teachers can place unbreakable mirrors on the ground or low enough on a wall that the infant can see it…
When it comes down to choosing the best childcare option for your child, the first factor that most parents look at is: what that particular child needs. Now, there is nothing wrong with that, but there are a number of factors that needs to be considered prior to making that final choice. The decision of whether to send your child to a commercial daycare center or an in-home family childcare should depend on more than just the need of the child. Parents need to also consider environment, cost, certification, daily schedules, and provider to child ratios.…
Unlike most people there was no single event that marked my transition into adulthood. For me, it was a series of events that led to my epiphany that my childhood was over.…
College students can and should enjoy alcohol without the stigma associated with it. The alternative option would be for colleges to focus on teaching students proper drinking manners, as opposed to banning alcohol outright. The problem is not alcohol on campus but people who are not mature enough to handle it. So rather than attempt in vain to hide the bottle, colleges need to educate their students on proper drinking. First example, Colleges may host parties of their own where students can freely drink and be under the close supervision of the college administrators. Second solution would be to have an open relationship with the local bars and pubs, get them involved in helping out around the school, making them a part of the college culture.…

It is very important for adults who are responsible for children in there formative years to know this. Children are influenced by everything they see. Adults should also be aware of the years in which they have the skills able to identify and do what they see. Children do not all develop at the same rate; therefore, making it harder to identify this stage of life. Children are more influenced by people that they respect a lot, like parents, than they are by people they just know, babysitter.…

Being a grown up seemed like fun until I grew a little older and realized the hardships that came with it. I couldn't help but to think about what would happen when I got to my parents age; I thought about what I would look like, who I would be married to, and what my kids would look like. I began to ponder.…
Full-day kindergarten is designed to give children a strong start for four and five -tear-old in school and in life and it is part of Ontario’s plan to support early learning and child development. Furthermore, full-day kindergarten can build a stronger school system and contribute to Ontario’s long-term economic competitive advantage. Ontario’s full-day kindergarten program is not simply a doubling of time in comparison to the half-day program; instead the FDK program offers a child-center, developmentally appropriate program taught by both a certified teacher and a registered early childhood educator. The purpose of the program is to establish a foundation in learning in a safe and nurturing play-based environment. An overwhelming majority…
Being a young person I’ve heard many a great debate over the word “Adult”. Most specifically between the kids and parents of my family, and these arguments are always the same. “You’re not an adult I still pay your bills”, and the most common “you’re not an adult you still live with mom and dad”. But those arguments don’t really give us a clear description of what makes someone an adult. There all good points on what an adult does but are they requirements? I don’t believe so. The other day my mother and I were arguing this very same point. In my mother’s eyes, though I am over the legal age of adulthood, I am still a child. If you ask her why she will give you a number of reasons, among those being that I still ask her for money and don’t have my own place of residents, but those are again what an adult does. There not really what makes someone an adult. I believe this word needs to be redefined and set straight to avoid future family quarrels.…
