Clearly, the answer to whether we should be responsible for our actions in the society depends on the version of free will we believe in. The definition of free will provided by B.F. Skinner and other hard determinists claim that there is only determinism and no free will. People thought they could choose what they want and do “because they have been conditioned since childhood to want and choose only what they can have and do”(172). The fact that their actions are causally determined by the external environmental factors that are out of control mean no free will and no responsibility.     My definition of personal responsibility is the act of taking charge of your own actions and living with the results.
