Atticus And Bob Ewell Analysis
To begin, I will be discussing the similarities and differences between Atticus Finch and Bob Ewell. Atticus is the most moral person in this novel, meanwhile Bob Ewell is the complete opposite of Atticus. Mr. Ewell uses, abuses, and manipulates to get his way. Although Atticus and Mr. Ewell have some similarities, but not many. Mr. Ewell and Atticus seem to represent the sides of good and evil in this bestseller. In addition to, the imbalance between Atticus and Mr. Ewell can be seen through their physical appearance. Atticus is a tall, scrawny man who wears formal clothes, glasses, and always seems to have a book in his hands. Atticus serves as a fantastic role model for his children, Jem and Scout, through his values, morals, and opinions.

The contradiction between Atticus’s and Mr. Ewell’s character is incredible. Mr. Ewell’s full name is Robert. E. Lee. Mr. Ewell is an unemployed alcoholic who neglects his family and sexually abuses his oldest daughter, Mayella. Mr. Ewell hates others who are different than him with a passion. He is truly a selfish man who will do whatever it takes to have his way.
However, Atticus and Bob Ewell have their similarities. Both Mr. Ewell and Atticus were born in the small town of Maycomb, Alabama. The pair are also both white and male. The relationship between Atticus and Mr. Ewell is strained and edgy because Atticus is defending a black man named Tom Robinson in court. Their relationship is strained because Mr. Ewell and Mayella both accuse Tom of raping Mayella. In the final analysis, you can observe that Atticus Finch and Bob Ewell have great resemblance whereas imbalance towards each other. It’s quite odd to reflect on how Atticus and Mr. Ewell were raised in the same exclusive town in Alabama and turned out the way they did.
