The Situation being argued is Assisted Suicide, this practice involves helping a person who is hopelessly ill to end his or her own life. Some People support it because it is a persons right to end their life using a Physicians grant and supervision . Others are opposed because it is said that a doctors will is to heal and never harm . Because people have been prosecuted for assisting with suicide, Government should protect a person's right to die with protective legislative.Thirty-four states of the United States, including Washington and Oregon,assisted suicide is illegal.The current debate over physician-assisted suicide involves who will have the power to control the dying process,physicians or the patients.
“Physician-assisted suicide is a compassionate option for those who suffer and have reached a clear decision to end their lives peacefully. While suicide is not the preferred way to end life, it is an option. Physicians are able to prescribe medication that can, make an end to their life.”Assisted Suicide demeans the value of human life.In this country, human life means something. For each death, we have 1-2 days of ceremonies, elaborate burials, and months of mourning.So the assistance of death in this country would make the rates go up. Human life is much more that just a cluster of biological cells.If the Assisted Suicide is legal, soon people will try and abuse it. For example, patient can convince their Doctor/ Physician that they want to die based on their Psychological or Emotional state which could convince their doctors to help them end their lives. Also, The patient may want to give up on recovery much too early.and just end his/her pain.If a patient is told that he has, for example, if a patient is told they have 6 months left to live with increasing pain, he may decide to end things before things start to get really bad. This eliminates time that could be spent with his/her family. Or this could eliminate any chance of there being a

According to Dictionary.com, the definition is a situation in which a physician provides the means of death for a gravely ill patient .Dehal and Levy explain, “The Death With Dignity Act (DWDA) allows mentally competent, terminally ill patients who are over 18 years of age and residents of the state of Oregon to obtain a prescription for a lethal dosage of medication to end their own life in case their suffering becomes unbearable. Patients eligible for the act must make one written and two oral requests over a period of 15 days. The prescribing physician and a consulting physician have to confirm the diagnosis and the prognosis. If either doctor believes the patient's mental competence is impaired, he must be referred for a psychiatric or psychological evaluation. The prescribing physician is required to inform the patient of potential alternatives to PAS, such as comfort care, hospice care, and pain control.” The positives of Physician assisted suicide is that people who are at the end of their lives can forgo the incredible pain that can happen with many diseases.
