why is reflective practice important?
Reflective practice is important, because you can consider what you did, what went well and what didn't go so well. From there you know what you need to improve on, what areas you might need to research, how you could change your communication etc and then consider how you will behave next time. Then when you reflect again on a subsequent event, you can consider if you have improved and what you still need to work on. It is one big cycle really and helps you to continue developing as a competent professional.
how reflective practice contibiutes to improving the quality of service provision? Have you dealt with a difficult situation, or a new situation, did you reflect on this, how you dealt with it, did you back feedback, would this then improve the quality, because your practice should have improved from dealing with the issue, and knowing that you will do it better next time. If workers think about what they are doing and what they can do to make it better their work will improve and so will the service provision.
