Honorable Kathryn Nelson began the morning addressing the attorneys. ASA Bodek informed the judge that he had seen the defendant driving the previous day knowing that one of the charges were driving without a valid driver license. He wanted to ensure that his observation was on record. The judge then asked the defense attorneys if they had anything that they needed to address, which they responded no. Judge Nelson delayed the trial for approximately 20 minutes so the bailiff could go and locate a hearing device for Mr. Burke since he was hearing impaired. Once that was taken care of, the jury was brought into the courtroom. Judge Nelson greeted the jury and told them that opening statements would take place. Facing the Judge, the prosecution sat to the right and the defense sat to the left. Against the right wall of the courtroom is where the jury sat. Witnesses for the prosecution sat behind the ASA and witnesses or friends and family for the defense sat behind the defense attorneys.…

The Appellant’s lawyers filed this Motion for Summary Judgment asking the Court to dismiss the lawsuit filed by the Appellee based on the fact that there is evidence which shows that the “the defendant’s had no actual knowledge of visible intoxication” by Mr. Edward Hard, Mrs. Whites former fiancée. This would be the standard required in order for the plaintiff to recover under Indiana Law (Ind. Code Ann. § 7.1-5-10-15.5). Furthermore, they stated that the act of crashing into the White’s car was not the “proximate cause” of the injuries to the plaintiff and the death of her husband but rather the result of a criminal act by Mr. Hard. The defendants believe there are no disputes of the material facts in the case and ask that the Court grant their motion…

Hosmer's life and work have been liable to much insightful critique in late decades, with a few writers endeavoring to represent her remarkable global prestige as a female sculptor. While Power for the most part was perceived by art enthusiasts, craftsmen of history and by workmanship devotees, women artists like Hosmer were left in the shadows. The exposition coaxes out a perplexing web of mid-nineteenth-century worries that expect cutting edge distractions, including self-designing, gender roles, tourism, the ascent of VIP culture, and the craftsman's complicity with and fights against the contemporary press. All taken together, it looks to entangle and improve our comprehension of Hosmer and her key engagement with sculpture making , prompting…

In the case of White vs. O’Malley’s Tavern (case number 82A04-8876-CB285)Mrs. White is asking that the bar be held liable for her husband’s death. Mrs. White and her husband were involved in a car crash with someone who had been drinking at O’Malley’s Tavern. Sadly, the crash killed Mrs. White’s husband. What is interesting about this case is that Mrs. White knows the person that had the collision with them that caused her husband’s death. Mr. Hart, the other person involved with the crash, was an ex boyfriend of Mrs. White. The situation began at O’Malley’s Tavern where both Mr. Hart and Mr. and Mrs. White were at. Mr. Hart was not there with Mr. and Mrs. White and seemed to be disturbed by their presence. In the courtroom observation it was discussed that Mr. Hart was still a bit bitter over the breakup and that this may have fueled his drinking even more. The lawyers for Mrs. White are claiming that the bar should be held responsible for allowing Mr. Hart to get as intoxicated as he was and have the crash in the first place. However, the bartender is claiming that he never seen any signs that Mr. Hart was too drunk. Mrs. White claimed there was an incident where Mr. Hart was too drunk to walk so he tripped over a pool cue and fell. However, Mrs. White also says that the bartender did not witness this event. She says that by the time the…

Women have always been judged, we have been called sensitive, emotional, vulnerable, pathetic, sentimental, and, many other labels invented by society. I mean, is being sentimental a bad thing? No, it’s not, it’s completely normal to have emotions, everyone has emotions. Mary Anne Bell symbolizes how women are capable of being part of a war and finding interest in subjects in which society would consider “Only meant for men”. Tim O’Brien is not a feminist, I believe that he is making an argument discussing how women should be treated equally as men, no gender labels nor excuses. O'Brien says, “If Mary was a man it wouldn't be a big deal”. No matter what gender soldiers are they lose their innocence. War changes soldiers into completely different people and damages them mentally even causing them to commit suicide.…
