The reason why colleges and university are worth the four plus years and the high cost of tuition is because of the amount of money you can make afterwards. An article written by Catherine Rampell can help you see the advantages of receiving a degree from an institution. She showed that of the American earning more than $150,000, 82 percent of them carried a bachelor’s degree. Only 6.5 percent of those Americans who earned at least $150,000 did not receive a high school diploma and around 7 percent did have a diploma. This illustrates the need for more people to go to college to receive a degree because it will get them a job that will increase their income by 20 to 30 thousand dollars. In the long run, this can affect your standard of living. With that extra cash you would be making, you can pay off your college debt which a lot of people are saying is out of control and one of the reasons college is not worth it. The bigger picture is that you can pay off the college debt in the first five years and then use that money to pay for a new car or a bigger house. This is the reason why the standards of living will increase.…

Many people argue that going to college is either a waste of money or a waste of time because “now a days” it does not matter if you have a degree or not, it is still hard to find a job. I believe this to be different. People who do not go to college are more likely to be unemployed and, therefore, place undue financial strain on society, making a college degree worth it to taxpayers. In my opinion I think that going to college is a great experience to meet new people, learn social skills, and earn a degree which will always pay off in the long run.…

To understand why college is a good decision, even with the expensive price tag, humanity needs to realize why we wanted to go to college in the first place; money. According to a video called, “Is College Worth It?” by Jason Bellini, he states that a high school graduate only earns $652/week on average, while a college graduate earns about $1,300/week on average. This is very extensive because this means that a college graduate receives more than twice the amount of hard cash a week. If a college graduate has this exact salary for the whole year, and the fact that there are about 52 weeks in a year, a college graduate…

Now don’t you think it would have been a good idea to just go to college out of high school get your degree and A. make more money and B. pay your debts off sooner rather than having to just start paying for them in your late 40’s. Honestly I do not see why people think of going to college as a bad thing. It has the best of both worlds, you can have a ton of fun, along with the added fact that you will learn about something you love to do if you go for the career you enjoy and C. you will make $10,000-$20,000 more a year and sometimes more depending on the degree you get if you just have the degree when you get the job. Now people are just going to contradict me and say well when you go to college and get a degree all you come out with is a bunch of debt and it hard to get a…

College is worth it because you will have a better job and pay then you can support yourself and your family. College student debt grows year by year, which means many students are unable to pay back their loan because they drop out of college or unable to find a job that can help they pay for their loan. However, it is just an excuse for those who did not finish college. In fact, according the article “The (Non-Monetary) Value of a College Degree”, Elia Powers writes “In 2005, a person with a professional degree could expect to make $100,000 a year, compared with less than $32,000 for a high school graduate and $51,000 for a graduate of a four-year college” this means college graduate can make much more money than high school graduate. Also, in the article “College Student Debt Grows. Is It Worth It?” NPR Staff state “For students graduating this year, Kantrowitz estimates that their debt will be about $27,000” this means people mostly borrow about $27,000 for college. Assume you graduate from college and earn $51,000 every year. You can pay $500 monthly. Then your debt will be clear with 5 years. Of course if you are only high school graduate and earning $32,000 per year. You are not able to pay back the loan because the money is only support for your own life expenses.…

To some people college education is the gateway to a better life and a future but, to some they are able to become successful without a college degree. Or so they say. Some degree pays for themselves off some don’t. The debate over if college education is worth it may have begun when the colonialist arrived from Europe and founded “New College” in 1636. People who argue that college is worth it contend that college graduates have higher employment rates, bigger salaries, and more work benefits than high school graduates. They say college graduates also have better interpersonal skill, live longer, have healthier children, and have proven their ability to achieve a major milestone. People who argue that college is not worth it content that the debt from college loans is too high and delays graduates from saving for retirement, buying a house, or even getting married. Two years of FREE community college! In theory, this sounds like a really good idea, and would give numerous people, who would otherwise not have the option to continue his education, the opportunity to get a good start on his college degree. President Obama has proposed a two year, free community college plan. in his speech given at Pellissippi State College in Knoxville, Tennessee, President Obama stated, a college education should be “as free and universal as high school is today” (Korte). High school is not free. Tax paying citizens pay for children to get a high school education. College should be more affordable for those who wish to pursue a higher education, but the President’s plan will not work; there are too many expenses that would not allow the nation to support every college student who attends a two year college. There are too many questions and concerns about offering two years of free higher education to everyone. College is not for everyone, and certainly will…

Furthermore colleges has helped many students foster out of their shells and produce astonishing works that they had not ever imaged to do alone. And according to Pew Research.com three different generations (Boomers, Gen-Xers, Millennials) were asked if college was worth it and about 83% of all those students said that college did pay off even though the cost and investment was really high. In a similar way my own father went through this road and he didn't only manage to obtain that degree he also got the experience and education that a college gives you, he learned to be responsible, respectful and organized. And although there is a great amount of money put into college education at the end the outcome is worth more than the investment.…
