Are Violent Video Games Addictive and Dangerous?
It depends on how you define violent games! I have seen dozens of 5-year old kids playing Halo, yet THEY didn't grow up to be violent psychopaths; however, I understand the concern of those who say that violent games should be banned.
Has it EVER occurred to you that most M+ games are bought by teens in high school/people who don't have children yet?
Now, violent game playing should be up to the parents/guardian, but FPS, RPGs and others CAN help with certain issues- for example, for HEALTHY (no PTSD) soldiers, they found out that frequently playing games where there is violence might help with common PTSD symptoms.
Something else: The rating industry is not very accurate. Most M+ and T+ games have the rating put in front of them to show that this game should be up to the parents/guardian to decide whenever or not to let their kids play it.

Violent Video Games - Addictive and Dangerous I have observed a young man occupy his precious waking hours for several years now doing violent video games, to the sacrifice of his schooling, his portion in household maintenance activities, his friends, communication with the family, and looking for a job. He misses his meals as his body clock is upside down. He hardly goes out as his eyes and whole attention is focused on the screen - even when in bed and in the toilet. What kind of future awaits such poor soul physically, mentally, morally, and socially? How many of our youth in the whole world do exactly the same, instead of committing themselves in acquiring knowledge and skills useful to themselves, their families, their communities, and the whole of humanity? Who are making these games and what is their purpose? Moneymaking and nothing else? I believe the government and institutions of especially friendly and peaceful nations must ban these. It's an insult to the current human psyche, to humanity as a whole after the gross horrors and suffering from two world wars, and the promulgation of global, if not universal,

One out of the many people that disagrees with this argument is Melissa Henson from the Parent Television Council. From Henson’s point of view, she believes that video games make teenagers more violent than they are already are. As she quoted, “Prolonged exposure to violent images, such as violent video games, can result from in more aggressive behavior.” What she is saying is that violent video games should be banned then rather being played by teens since they have way too much violent and gory images which make them violent…

The most violent game is Call of Duty. Kids aren’t understanding how dangerous guns really are and the video games are causing them to kill in real life. Some young kids don’t completely understand what they’re doing with guns and just going crazy. Also kids with disorders could be playing these games and not knowing exactly what’s going on and then getting ahold of real guns and causing damage to people in real life. Parents and kids both don’t realize…

Violent video games are an easy thing to blame for a more difficult problem. This being said, some people think that video games should be regulated on the matter of how much violence they are “teaching” the people who play the video game. In my honest opinion, video games shouldn’t be used as a society’s violent outbreaks scapegoat. Even most shootings are associated with mental illnesses (Kaijn) and not because they played the newest Call of Duty shoot’em up, then later on felt like gunning down random people in a mall,or school,…

Many people believe that violent video games should be banned, claiming that they have a negative effect on people. Some even say violent games make people commit violent acts. These games do influence human behavior, which is not always positive, but this does not mean that they should be banned. If a child began playing violent video games at a young age, then he might think that violence in real life is the same as the game violence and that it does not have a real impact on others. However, most children can distinguish between virtual violence and real violence.…

There is a lack of studies that follow kids that tend to play these types of video games for a long period of time. This shows us that these accusations are invalid because no one has proven that “violent video games” cause violent actions. Also, violent thoughts have often been confused with violent actions. For example, someone might say “I hate Becky I want to kill her!” This is just the way teens talk. Just because someone says this doesn’t exactly mean they will do it. Were just teens, we say things we don’t mean causing others to think we have turned into some sort of monsters. I know I said that there is no bond between rated M videogames and violent actions but there is just a tiny one. The only bond that has been proven about these two is that kids that are already violent for many other reasons like bullying, child abuse etc. are the ones who tend to look for these games. The people that want to ban these videogames are making it seem like these video games are some sort of black hole that is just waiting to suck up any kid and turn them into some sort of violent machine. But as you now know, this is a false…

Video games have always been a great landmark in the history of the human race and how great and advanced they’ve become since their creation. Video games also have their own timeline and certain points in time in which major controversy has arisen. Even though, video games could in a way benefit someone I will still stick to the point that in my opinion violent video games could cause aggressive behavior. Just like my nephew, the improvement in the graphics, and from my experience have all directed me to agree with the statement.
