Annie Hall Essay
Annie Hall starring and directed by Woody Allen (1977) is a romantic dramatic comedy. It makes use of many important film techniques, one being specific screen direction. The screen direction plays an important role in creating and supporting the genre of the film.
Annie Hall is falls under a mixed genre. It is a romantic dramatic comedy, as opposed to the general romantic comedy which is so popular. It has the elements of a romantic comedy such as the ‘cute couple’, the funny moments, the arguments that are inherent to such movies as ultimately it brings about the unhappy couples happy ending. This is where Annie Hall deviates from the standard romantic comedy genre and edges into the dramatic. Instead of a fight and a happy ending, Annie Hall has many arguments and disagreements and the audience is told from the get-go that this is not a happy ending. It also delves into the past unfortunate romantic history of both Alvy and Annie. These variances from the normative romantic comedy style are seen expressly in the screen direction throughout the film.

It is important to note that they are walking from the right side of the screen towards the left side.
This mid shot scene takes place after a humorous scene with the crayfish that shows that their relationship had cute, fun moments typical of a conventional romantic comedy as well as the romantic moments such as the one seen here where they enjoy a romantic walk on the beach at

The first thing that comes to the mind of most people when they hear the word ‘skeleton’ is a human skeleton။maybe a plastic one they have tucked away for next year’s Halloween. Plenty of people don’t even know that skeleton is a sport, much less that it’s an Olympic event. Skeleton is relatively simple in theory and regulations; however, plunging down a slippery track of ice at upwards of 80 miles per hour can appear as less than simple. The sport has history in Switzerland, and has only been in the Games a few times. Despite this fact, it has still produced many great athletes.…

One way is that in each of the movies, Annie and Grace end up having a good relationship with each other and are the first to become friends in a way in each of the movies. They also share a lot of time making Warbucks or Stacks into the person in the end of the movie. Another thing that both movies had was the iconic song “Tomorrow”. Even though it is an obvious to have in an Annie movie, they were still done in different ways and all of them were done pretty good. One more thing that all 3 of the movies had was the orphans helping in a way to tell Warbucks or Stacks that the people that are taking her aren’t her real parents. In the original one, they ran from the orphanage to tell him. In the 1999 movie version, they get Lilly to take them and stop the Hannigans. And in the 2014 movie, Ms. Hannigan needs their help to make up for what she did and they use twitter to find Annie. Now even though all of the titles of the movies are the same, they all have their differences. One example of this is how Sandy ends up living with Stacks or Warbucks. In the original one, Annie already had Sandy at the orphanage and brought her along to the mansion from the beginning. In the 1999 version, Annie finds Sandy while out with Warbucks and Grace on the streets. In the 2014 version, Stacks takes Annie to a dog pound and Annie gets Sandy that way. Another difference is how Warbucks or Stacks meets Annie. In the original, Warbucks meets Annie by smelling wet dog and Annie coming out of hiding with the dog, In the 1999 version, Annie runs into Warbucks at the end of the “I Think I’m Going to Like it Here” song. In the 2014 version, Annie runs into Mr. Stacks when he saves her by taking her out of traffic and not letting her get run over. One more difference is the relationship between Hannigan and Mr. Bundles or Lou. In the 1982 version, Hannigan is trying to get Bundles and is all…

In Time and Tide by Tim Winton, and Martin and the Hand Grenade by John Foulcher, a range of complex ideas and techniques are used to create an atmosphere of inner conflict, and physical conflicts that can arise as a result. Winton looks at the conflicts of wasteful human use of the ocean to further their own economic wants and needs, and in extension the effect that this has on him. Foulcher explores the effect that conflict within a classroom can have on the students involved, and in the composer himself. While both are set in different times and places, both composers similarly conclude that the effects of human beings on their surrounding can lead to change and growth, in both the texts and the responders.…

For as long as I can remember, I always had more guy friends than girl friends. I am not sure if girls intimidated me, or if I just got along better with boys. While I do have a couple of close girl friends now, I still have a bigger group of close guy friends.…
