Animal Testing Is Cruel And Inhumane Essay
Everyday animals have to endue torture and agony people put them through because of animal testing. Whether it is for medical research or for cosmetic testing they are subjected to bleed, being burned, blinded, or become deceased. Sometimes these animals are put through this for the most arbitrary reasons such as makeup remover and eyeliner. The use of animal testing is cruel, ineffective, and a waste of money. Animal testing is undeniably cruel and inhumane. The daily life of an animal being kept for laboratory research is like the life of a prisoner’s. They are caged up and can’t decide any aspect of their life. The only difference between these animals and common prisoners is that prisoners won’t be injected with strange chemicals, have unusual liquids dripped into their eyes, be deprived of food and water, drowned, shocked, and possibly killed. Normally after the traumatizing operation is done, animals are simply locked back up in their cage without anything to soothe the pain. Painkillers are not required for any experiment, no matter how painful, and are usually not used. The US …show more content…
It is a fact that 92% of drugs passed by animal tests immediately fail when tried on humans. Mice, rodents, birds, cats, dogs, monkeys, they are all genetically different from humans. Their bodies function and behave differently from a human’s so drugs that cure the disease in their body may not cure the same disease in a human’s body. Animal tests may also mislead researchers into ignoring potential cures and treatments. Some chemicals are harmful to animals but produce good results when used on humans. In cosmetic animal testing, they rub the product on the animal’s skin or on the animal’s eyes to evaluate the level of irritation caused by the product. This also is not very effective because, again, their skin and eyes are not the same as ours. Bottom line, animals are different from

Animal testing is wasteful, useless, and dangerous. The experiments that are done on these animals are gruesome. Bountiful amounts of people (about 62% in 2004 according to Heather Mason Kiefer) argue that animal testing is necessary in order to produce safe products. On the contrary, several studies have found these methods to be questionable. They lack accurate, safe results.…

An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States fir various types of testing. These animals are used for scientific and commercial testing to develop medical treatments, determine toxicity of medications and chemicals, check the safety of products destined for human use and other biomedical or healthcare purposes. This testing on animals is cruel, inhumane and should be banned. It should be banned because the animals are held and live in inhumane conditions, it is harmful and at times lethal to the animals and there are other research method available that do not require animal testing.…

Every year millions of animals are subjected to horrible unethical experimentations in order to advance medical science. Dogs, cats, monkeys, mice, and other animals are kept in dark rooms in cages while being exposed to various toxic and poisonous substances daily in order to test how the substance may react in humans. These poor creatures suffer from inhumane treatments and are denied any form of happiness, and these experiments should cease and alternatives should be used instead. Animal testing is a cruel and ineffective medical practice that produces unreliable results and those laboratories should use safer alternatives that will provide more accurate results.…

Animal testing is rarely successful since animals have different physiologies than humans. There has been many studies that have shown inaccuracy and unsuccess in animal testing. Studies show, “90 percent of medications approved for human use after animal testing later proved ineffective or harmful to humans in clinical trials” (Stop Animal Testing) and also, “Animal-tested drugs have killed, disabled or harmed millions of people and lead to costly delays as well” (Stop Animal Testing). It is evident that animal testing lacks accuracy and has dangerous consequences, therefore it should no longer be…

In animal testing, countless animals are experimented on and then killed after their use is up. Some are injured and will still live the remainder of their life in captivity. The doctors will not do anything to help the animals that are in pain that happen to be the reason because of them. It is the aspect of animals testing that many view as a major negative against the practice, as it seems that the animal died in vain because no direct benefit to humans occurred. Even though animals and humans have many things in common like how we both have the same organ system, there are also many things that are different between animals and humans. Many animals cannot handle or take the same medication as humans, most the surgeries that are operated on animals are just too strong for an animal to take so they end up dying or sick for the rest of their lives. (Animal Testing…

Animal testing has been going on for a couple of years now. Scientists use animal testing as a form of “safe” testing. According to Humane Society International, animal testing is, “Procedures performed on living animals for purposes of research into the basic biology and diseases, assessing the effectiveness of new medicinal products, and testing the human health and/or environmental safety of consumer and industry products such as cosmetics, household cleaners, food additives, pharmaceuticals and industrial/agro-chemicals. (1)” Many companies use animal testing because it is easier, or more ethical, to…

There are a lot of bad things that happen in this world and Animal Testing is one of them. Doctors,Scientists and other people test on these animals everyday. In my opinion there should be no animal testing at all. It is cruel. Right now there are millions of animals sitting in cold cages waiting for their next painful procedure. The stress, sterility and boredom causes them to develop neurotic behaviors such as, biting themselves and running around in circles. Most of these animals are killed after the testing because there is no possible way for them to live after this has happened. More than 100 million animals suffer this torture. Exact numbers have not been found, in rats, mice, birds, and cold blooded animals take up about 90 percent.…

When it comes to the topic of animal testing, most of us will readily agree that it is a debatable topic. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question of whether it helps researchers to find new drugs and treatments suitable for humans. Whereas some are convinced that it does help researchers find new drugs and treatments, others maintain that some drugs tested on animals may never actually be useful or even safe for human consumption. In my own view the results of animals testing are unreliable because animals and humans are not genetically or anatomically alike to one another.…

Animal testing has always been a dispute between people; some people think it’s morally wrong and some people think it helps with medical and scientific breakthroughs. Drugs that people use or cosmetics that are used could have been tested through animals before being stocked on shelves. About 800 animals are tested on before a drug is passed to clinical trials (“Is animal”). Many animals get tested on, but many like mice, rabbits, hamsters, monkeys, dogs, cats, pigs, and some other animals get tested on. Animals can be used to find new advances in medical treatment and check safety for products, but these animals that get tested on can go through pain and death. Animal testing is wrong and should be stopped because…

Drugs that are successful in animals can fail on humans. Studies show that 94% of the drugs tested on animals don't even work on humans (procon.org). Another problem is researchers may mislead end or ignore cures because they didn't work on animals. “Some chemicals that are harmful to animals prove valuable when used by humans. Aspirin, for example, is dangerous for some animal species, and Fk-506 (tacrolimus), used to lower the risk of organ transplant rejection, was ‘almost shelved’ because of animal test results, according to neurologist Aysha Akhtar, MD, MPH.” says procon.org. The biggest problem is how different animals are to us. Although some animals have similar DNA to us, it reacts differently. It's like playing the guitar, you may play Don't Stop Believing, by Journey, and Someone Like You, by Adele, you are using the same chords, but they are two very different songs. “The anatomic, metabolic, and cellular differences between animals and people make animals poor models for human beings.” states procon.org.…
