Animal Cruelty Laws In The United States

As people go throughout their day, they often times will come across topics that are easily able to be argued over. Everyone is their own person, and as a result of this, everyone has their own opinion. The topics could range from which shoe brand is better, all the way to wether they think the current bill that is in senate should be passed or not. From political topics to topics as simple as brands, everyone has something that they can take a stand on and argue about. One topic that can easily be argued over is animal cruelty laws. However, the clear correct side of this is that the laws should be stricter and have more severe punishments.
In New York animal cruelty laws are nowhere near as harsh as compared to laws for humans. Mistreatment
If someone would purposely harm a small innocent puppy, what would they do to a human? If someone starves their pet and deprives them of life essentials, what about their children? If these types of people had children, they could just as easily deprive them too. Most people do not look at animal cruelty cases like this. They do not realize that not only are they harming animals, but they could also be harming other humans just as well. When an animal case is looked it, it is basically glanced over, with little in depth inquiry.
Despite all of these facts that clearly show that animal cruelty laws should be stricter, there are a few points for the other side as well. Not everyone is an animal lover, and the well being of an animal on the streets, they feel is none of their concern. Some people consider their pets as family, but in the end they are animals. A large amount of people feel as if animals are just animals, and that animal lives are not nearly as important as human lives. These points are very miniscule, however, and the reasons on why the laws should be stricter outweigh them
