“I never underestimated myself, and I never saw anything wrong with ambition –Angela Merkel.” Angela Merkel, also known as one of the architects of the European Union, is a German Politician who entered the political world in 1989. Merkel has been the Chancellor of Germany since 2005, and the leader of the Christian Democratic Union since 2000. Angela Merkel is the first woman to hold either of these offices, which is why I consider her a great leader. According to (Mills, 2008), the idea of leadership drives individuals to inspire and move people to pursue great work.
