Analyzing Duncan The Dragon In Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'
1 Duncan the dragon was swimming with his friend Carl The Crab on a hot summer day…..

Want to know what I love about being a dragon?

What?

I can breath fire, whenever, wherever, I want.

I wish I could do that, all I can do is pinch people.

2
When Duncan the dragon got out of the pool, he tried to warm himself with a burst of fire.

Carl, I can breath fire!

Well how could you not be able to?!

Well a dragon could only lose fire if he loses the fire stone he is supposed to keep on him.

I thought I put it in my trunks!

3

Well Duncan we are just gonna have to go look for it, okay where have you been today.

Okay I have been at the park, the mall, the beach, my house, and the playground.

Okay then we will go to everywhere you

The play Macbeth is about a man who slowly goes insane because of his poor and morally wrong decisions. In real life, Macbeth was not the crazy man that he is portrayed to be. The true crazy one was Duncan. He was power hungry, tyrannical, and could be classified as a poor decision maker that split his army to both northern and southern territories to attack different peoples. Macbeth and Duncan’s personalities were switched by Shakespeare in order to appease King James I of England who was extremely proud of his Scottish ancestry.…

    Duncan's Guilt In Macbeth

    • 289 Words
    • 2 Pages

The guilt that Macbeth feels is real from the start. It can be evaluated throughout the play with how he acts and some things he says. When Macbeth had killed Duncan, the guilt is obvious as soon after committing the bad deed. Macbeth’s guilt is evident that when a servant had said “God bless us,” Macbeth couldn’t “say “Amen”” (2.2.28). He isn't able to bring himself to say it due to him knowing that he had just killed a man for his own selfish gain. Macbeth knows that what he did was a horrible deed and now he is acknowledging his consequences which include guilt. Following Duncan’s death, Macbeth is never himself again, which could be because of the guilt. Macbeth believes that he is “in blood stepped in so far, should [he] wade no more,…

Duncan is depicted as Shakespeare’s idea of a fair king that others should admire. Duncan speaks to all people with respect, when the bloodied captain brings news to Duncan in act 1 Duncan greets him by calling him a “valiant cousin” and “worthy gentleman”. As well as showing respect to his subject he also held in utmost respect, as he is frequently called great king and chants of god save the king are also frequent throughout act 1 scene 3. I should have been the one to confront Macbeth. I should have been able to figure out what Lady Macbeth and Macbeth did. I spent hours upon hours analyzing and scrutinizing the Lady’s strange speech from her sleep. If only I had realized it sooner, if only I had just put the pieces of the puzzle together quickly I could have been king. But no, Malcolm took over, and Malcolm got the power. But, I cannot think this way, just look at what happened to Macbeth and his wife. “Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires.” But it was so obvious! The washing of her hands, her cries over the blood and her stained hands, her eagerness to hide or cover up what she had done. If only I had put the parts together I could have realized…

A tragic hero is a person of noble birth with heroic or potentially heroic qualities. This person is fated by the Gods or by some supernatural force to doom and destruction or at least to great suffering. If Macbeth is a tragic hero then Mrs. Campbell is a horrible teacher, it's just doesnt add up! Macbeth has no heroic qualities at all, he has psychopathic qualities, he murders his own uncle just to be king. Although he does undergo suffering he doesn’t learn from it and he makes his wife suffer so much that she kills herself. Macbeth is obviously not a tragic hero he is a tragic maniac.…
