Analysis Of Luke 24: 1-7
The Miracle That Still Changes Lives!
Luke 24:1–12
Larry C. Harmon

Today is not just any ordinary day! On this day some 2000 years ago the world was completely changed, changed by one man-Jesus Christ. What sin separated in the world, Jesus came so that we might be connected with Him forevermore.

Genesis 3:1-7
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.' ” Then the serpent

It was because of bad decisions that were made at the beginning of time and bad decisions that we make on a daily basis.

Thank you Lord for your goodness and grace!

Do we really understand the impact of the Resurrection and what it means to each of us as individuals?

Let's take a look at Luke chapter 24 and see how the event unfolded as the celebration of Jesus' resurrection was at hand!

I. Traveling to the Tomb!

Luke 24:1
Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.

The ladies wanted to make sure that Jesus had a proper burial. So, they are traveling to the tomb with their spices and brokenness to give him a Kingly burial.

I've always wondered, did they not know that there was a huge stone blocking their entrance to the tomb?

When we are so in love with Jesus, we are able to overlook the obstacles and difficulties in our lives.

II. The Surprise at the Tomb!

Luke

Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,

Dead cannot remain dead in the presence of Jesus Christ!

Christ, a Living Savior A missionary in Turkey wished to tell a group of people the truth of the resurrection of Christ. He said: "I am traveling, and have reached a place where the road branches off in two ways; I look for a guide, and find two men: one dead, and the other alive. Which of the two must I ask for direction, the dead or the living?" "Oh, the living," cried the people. "Then, said the missionary, why send me to Mohammed, who is dead, instead of to Christ, who is alive!" - Christian Endeavor World.

One thing is for sure, we should all be a people who are celebrating the empty tomb every day of our lives.

We have a risen Savior who is alive to meet us right where we are, to encourage us in discouraging times, to pick us up out of the dungeons and darkness of life and He is here for you

Christ’s rising from the dead three days after having been crucified on the cross is a story well known among most. It is the first ever and authentic report of a resurrection in our history. “Never before had anyone been raised from the grave in such a way as to be completely transformed and thus beyond the icy fingers of death.” (Deffinbaugh) Resurrection is a common biblical theme noted several time in the scriptures within the Old Testament and the New Testament of the Bible connecting the two.…

In the book, “More than a Carpenter,” Josh McDowell shows how Jesus Christ was more than just a teacher of good principles or a significant person in history. He was God in the flesh who entered the world and exclusively proved His deity. This book shows how Jesus is different from religious historical figures, guides the reader through proofs of Christianity, and logically shows that Jesus Christ was Lord. He shows that Jesus would not have died for a lie and that if Jesus did not rise from the grave, then he would not be the Messiah. Christ has changed many lives because he lived a perfect life, died on the cross for everyone’s sins, and rose from the grave.…

The reality of the problem did not give room for hope because he was consumed by the reality of the circumstance. But slowly, darkness gave way to light and his heart and mind are gently able to grasp a bigger picture. The impact of his death on him did not require an answer anymore, but in the trust in Christ power over death forever defeated. He overcome his grief with the reassurance that even with death something good is born so death is not the winner. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" 1 Corinthians 15:55. The power of the resurrection is. Now there is no more time to lose lingering in what suffering brings us which is pain aches, darkness grief, sadness, pain, but what sufferings teach us, to love to be patient to understand to be like Christ who is risen from the death. That is what brought him his joy back. A joy that even the death of a son cannot take way. The resurrection of Christ plays the most important role in comforting him. Because Jesus died and rose there is an assurance that one day we will too. His resurrection shows us what is reserved for the ones who believe in him. The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus are at the crux of Christianity. In hind sight what seemed like foolishness to some on lookers has become the wisdom of God triumphing over evil by the death of His Christ Jesus on the cross. Like the stanza of a well known verse, Christ cried out, “God, my God, why have You forsaken me?” This cry from the cross on the day of His crucifixion was not a cry of defeat, on the contrary; it was a cry of victory in the ears of those familiar with the blessed twenty second Psalm written by His very namesake David the king, the priest, the psalmist. Victory…

In Daniel B. Wallace’s article “The Resurrection of Christ: Theological Implications,” key points regarding the significance of the resurrection of Jesus are discussed and reviewed through the lens of Christology. Christology can be defined as the academic study of the person and work of Jesus of Nazareth, whom Christians avow is the Son of God and the second member of the Holy Trinity. At the time of this article’s writing, Wallace was a professor at Dallas Theological Seminary from which he had also received his Ph.D. A recognized expert in Greek and the study and application of “textual criticism,” Dr. Wallace is also the senior New Testament editor of the NET Bible and coeditor of the NET-Nestle Greek-English diglot. This symbolizes the path the dead will take across the heavens. These home altars are also garnished with religious trinkets and food offerings. The foods chosen are generally those that the deceased favored during his or her life. The kinds of things left on an altar are vast and can range from fruits, to cigarettes, and even alcoholic beverages. One of the staples left behind at the altar is salt, as it is considered to be the spice of life. All in all, the altar represents the notion that the cycle of life and death is an inevitable part of human existence. The most important message maintained throughout these ceremonies of the deceased are the remembrance of their souls and the celebration of life among the…

The “minimal facts approach” to the resurrection question is an approach that focuses on the lowest common denominator of agreed upon facts. For the most part, all facts presented within this approach meet two criteria: “they are well evidenced and nearly every scholar accepts them” (Habermas & Licona, 2004, p. 44). This approach only considers strongly attested historical data. So strongly in fact, that they are almost universally granted by nearly every scholar, both the skeptical and believing. The basic premise of this approach follows the presentation of five facts. Acceptance is almost universal for the first four facts whereas the fifth fact, although it has a preponderance of evidence in its favor, does not enjoy the same consensus.…

The resurrection in the Old Testament should be a life changing idea. It should give us hope that one day we will be with God with the many good things that will come with it, but it should also transform the way Christians live in the here and now. The minds and hearts of Christians should be set on the things above and not the things…
