Analysis Of John Mitchell's Artwork 'Arcadia Revisited'

The artwork “Arcadia Revisited” was created by John Matos which his nickname is Crash. Matos was born in New York 1961 and began his journey as an artist by the age of 13. He would go to train yard and do graffiti the trains which they call that “bombing”. During the 1980’s, he advances his graffiti artistic career from trains to galleries. Also, Crash is recognized as one of the first generation of a graffiti artist. Additionally, Matos use his style of defining graffiti to gain popularity in the United Sates, Asia, and Europe. Matos use a visual icon that works with many top name brands and also, creating art for galleries.

Mitchell is known for he striking artistic in the times when women were not really recognizing as an artist. Also, she attends the Art Institute of Chicago in 1944 to study art. Mitchell is more of an abstract artist than anything else. Her influence in those times of her life was from Wassillie Kandinsky, and Henri Matisse using their visual resources to create her pieces. Furthermore, Mitchell used the term “expression landscape” for her works. Eventually, Mitchell started into the lyrical abstraction of art.
When she decided to go solo, that is when her art started to enhance using more vivid colors and subtle elements.
