An Essay On How Football Changed My Life
It all happened at the end of 4th grade, it was the beginning of football season and it was my 3th year playing so I thought I was a star but bradley thought otherwise. Me and Brantley hated each other he would do anything to get me in trouble, one time when we were running to warm up for practice he fell on purpose and told the coaches that I’m the one who made him fall and they made me run the rest of practice for not taking anything serious and playing around too much. The next day I hated Bradley more than ever since my feet and my legs still felt like I had 1000 pound weights attached to them from the other day for running so long. I wanted revenge but I had no idea what I should do. My first thought was to truck him a little bit after …show more content…
My plan was to act like I was throwing the football to my friend and then my friend would crash into him and result in Bradley landing in the mud. So we tried my plan and it actually worked, but it worked too well. When my friend crashed into him and Bradley landed in the pig like mud and I instantly started laughing and then he instantly new that we did it on purpose, no he did not tell coach instead he got up out of the nasty mud and took the football out of my friends hands and came up to me and tried to throw the ball at my face and he succeeded. When he did it meant war, I got so mad that I punched him straight in his big nose and then we started fighting like nothing mattered. In my opinion I won the fight but at the same time lost, I think we both did cause we both got yelled at by the coaches and the parents and we both weren’t allowed to play in the game. On Tuesday when we had practice again we both had to run the whole day while the rest of the team got to eat pizza since they won the game on Saturday so in my opinion we both lost that fight and after that we never started fighting again, and the next day we told coach that we learned our lesson and we both agreed to get along for the rest of the

I gave the coach warning to hurry up with the sub. The girl's basketball coach was at the scorer when she heard me say that. The very next sub was from West Creek, they didn't take as long as Northeast has with their subs. The girl's basketball coach starting screaming "why don't you throw the ball in for them, and they are taking long!" As I'm administering the free throws, I can hear her yellowing from the table. I stop the game, ask her to remove herself from the table. She wasn't a book keeper, score keeper, or timer. I went to the boy's head coach and told him to control your coaching staff. I told him she is the head coach for the girl's team and I will access a technical foul to you if her behavior continues. I The boys coach from Northeast didn't understand why he would get a technical. I explained it to him, and just said whatever. The girls basketball coach from Northeast was very angry at this time and told the scorer and time keeper I want their names so I can report them. During half time, the score and the time keeper told us the girls coach from Northeast Middle School wants your name. I told them to give it to her, we didn't do anything wrong. While in the hallway talking to the…

On the first day of practice he introduced himself as “Jimmy Johnson” our defense line coach. He had a beer belly and glasses and slick wet hair and nappy eye brows and an itchy musty beard. His breath smelled like dog liver. My first impression of him is he just looks weird and mean. We began practice we ran around cones. We went over plays. Where we should line up according to the offense. Coach Johnson always thought he knew what is best for us. He would have running like slaves on D’jango. Coach ran the soles off my cleats. After all this running, my girdle begun chafing creating a rash like an unchanged baby. My feet would always hurt after practice. Looking down my feet was throbbing like a heartbeat. We would run all the lines on the…

On January 26th, I made a huge error in my basketball game against West Central. To anybody else, that game might have seemed unimportant- insignificant really. They were not a conference rival or a sectional team. To me however, this game was very significant because I used to attend that school. At that game, I played all of my friends from kindergarten to fifth grade. I hoped that I didn’t make a fool of myself. I hoped to do amazing so that all of my old friends would see what a great basketball player I had become. I hoped that I would make a play so amazing that everyone would remember it. While I would certainly not forget the play I made, it was not the spectacular one I had dreamed. My gym teacher- Mr. Prairie asked the class, “Who’s ready for the basketball game tonight against West Central,” and I wondered if I was. Because of my insistent worrying I could not manage to make a play through all of gym class (we were playing basketball)…

Intro: its 4th and 5 score zero to zero, and I’m on defense. Coaches are giving signals and linebackers are calling the play. They called the play where I get to blitz the quarterback. “Poor kid’s is going to have to take ibuprofen after I knocked him out of his cleats” I thought before the snap. And that’s what I did. Lowered my helmet then I made him take a rest if you know what I mean, and I heard it wasn’t pretty. (At least for him anyways) but it ended up being the other team winning 8-0. So I was kind of disappointed that we lost, but the hit made up for it.…

I was seeded 7th out of 21 kids. I had to wrestle a very tough kid my first match. Considering this was my first match of the district tournament, the nerves kicked in. My full potential was not shown in my first match and I walked away with a loss. The tournament wasn’t over and I had to keep my head up even though I knew losing again wasn’t an option. After an hour or so went by, it was time for my second match. The kid I had to wrestle wasn’t ranked and had a losing record so I assumed I could win. I went in with a positive mindset and came out victorious. I pinned him with 27 seconds left in the first period. With that win, I move on to the second day of the tournament. When the first day of wrestling is over, you have to option to weigh out that night or weigh in the next morning. I really wanted to eat that night so I chose to weigh out. Little did I know I was 4 pounds over. So after an hour of running I made weight and was able to eat that night. Laying in bed that night, I knew that tomorrow could be my last day wrestling all year. I had to give it my all. The next morning, we left the wrestling complex at 5:45 so we could be there by 7. Everyone slept the whole way there. After we all checked in, it was time to start warming up. I got a good sweat going in the warm up and felt confident. At about ten o’clock, it was time for my first match. I wrestled hard and walked away with the win. If I won my next match, I was going to the state wrestling…

My life has revolved around soccer since I was four years old. My whole family was born into the sport and I’m so thankful that I have the support from my family and friends to continue to follow my dream in playing college soccer. I believe my life would not be the same without participating in the sport I love and playing with the people I grew up with. I wouldn’t have met half the people I know now. All my teammate’s families that treat me like their family would have been just imaginary. I wouldn’t have a second family to fall back on when I need. Soccer had made me for who I am. The reason I’m so competed and driven is because of the game. Soccer has helped me become a responsible hardworking young adult that doesn’t like to fail. My never-quit…

My father, Coach Blake, told me to start the game off the right way and I did. The first pitch I hit deep in the outfield and got a triple. The team follow in them steps. The score of the game was our 8 to there 4. Then the team got cocky. That was a really bad idea through. We started to play horrible. We wasn’t getting on base nor playing good defense. The other team took over. Now the game was tied 8-8 and the game was coming to an end. It was our time to bat and we fail to score. It went three up three down. All we need was at least one person to hit and I would’ve hit again. All both Coach wanted was to get Torin and Me to hit. It fail to happen and now it was the other team turn to hit. The bases was load and they had two outs. One more out and we got another chance. Coach moved me from to catcher to pitcher and the pitcher to catcher. I throw the ball and the batter hit it down the third base line and they score. The game was over. We lose 9-8.…

I told my teammates when they see me open they should pass me the ball. I was messing up I was not thinking about no one except myself, I wanted to be the star really bad. My teammates were telling me to stop being a ball hog and stop showing off. I told them to back off and let me do me. The coach had pulled me out of the game told me that I was doing too much and I was not gaining anything by doing that. I was out the majority of the second half of the game and Brightwood was not pulling ahead; Truesdell was ahead by two points.I was devastated I wanted to win so bad seeing a score like really hurts me and shows that i am determined and competitive I came back in the game within fifteen minutes into the game with a different plan. I didn't show off, but I scored; even so, it was not enough for us to…

I got down early and he kept pushing the pace going into the third period I was down 6-1. I chose top, I quickly turned him to his back for a five count and got three points. We kept wrestling and i turned him again, but the ref messed up and only gave me two points so we were going into overtime. He shot in on my leg, but I slammed his head to the mat as hard as I could. It came down to this if I could just spin around and get the takedown I would go to state. I rammed my fist across his face trying to get him to break his grip he didn't let up. I did it again, this time harder I could hear the bone on bone grinding together and he gave up. I spun around and won. I lost 4-2 in the finals to the number one kid in the state, but I was okay with that. At state i was ranked 4th but wrestled bad and got 6th. But I felt like I was a state champ I had accomplished something that I had worked very hard for and no one could take that away from…

We are forced to accept that violence is no longer an acceptable reaction by anybody, that we must conjure the self-control to channel our anger into other more efficient ways. This has changed many views of interpretation on the world in which we live. You can especially see this change in the sports aspect of life. Sports are one of the biggest categories people are involved with, and something many people of the world share a passion for. As you can probably tell, this creates a growing problem. Most sports were created to be violent, an excuse to exert physical domination on another human. Sports were a way in which athletes could escape the normal world, have a new set of rules to follow, be held to a different standard.…
