The least we can do is to thank you. You gave me a future, freedom of speech, and an education, and so many more things.…

America’s Gift to My Generation John Quincy Adams once said, “You will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it.” I believe what he is trying to explain is that our freedom’s price was far too costly for it not to be taken advantage of. His quote provided a sufficient amount of evidence for me to prove that freedom is a very generous gift from America.…

Do you know when our national anthem first came to be the official anthem of the United States of America? The anthem was written by Francis Scott Key and became the official American anthem on March 3, 1931. America's gift to my generation is freedom of expression. Freedom of expression means we have the right to express our opinions in many ways. Currently, the professional football players of our nation seem to be using their freedom of expression to, in my opinion, disgrace our country's anthem.…

What is America’s gift to my generation? This is a good question with many possible answers. One might say that America gave their generation freedom of speech. While another might say that America gave their generation freedom of religion. These are both good answers, but I say that America has given my generation so much more than just freedom of speech or religion, and many agree with me.America has given my generation the right to vote regardless of race or gender, the right to have our own personal belongings, the right to protest against something that we believe is wrong. America has given my generation the freedom to own weapons to defend ourselves and the freedom to go wherever we want and be whoever we want. America has given my generation…

What it means to be an American, most people would tell you it means freedom to pursue and do what you want. In my opinion freedom and the “dream” don't come easy it takes more than hard work and dedication to earn a dime in this country. To be an American it means, responsibility to serve and do everything in your power to be a part of your society. To be an American it means you will obtain rights, for example, the 2nd amendment states you have the right to bare arms. To be an American it means you have freedom, to own whatever you desire if you work hard enough for it.…

America became a country on July 4th, 1776; over 240 years ago. That’s greater than 240 years of generations of people trying to define what it means to be an American, but few still stand true today from that long ago. Being accepting of others, not only other ethnic groups but fellow Americans as well, is one way in which things have not changed from the first American generation to the latest. One of the longest standing traits of the “poster child” American is being courageous, whether it be to earn our freedom or to fight for our rights as a civilization. Taking pride in our country is one of the oldest, and strongest, qualities of an American that was so important in the forming of our country and of equal importance, if not more so, today. Our generation defines what it means to be an American with the simple, and somewhat original, manner of being accepting of others, being courageous, and taking pride in our country.…

The American Dream is something that is unique to America, there is no European Dream or the Canadian Dream, just the American Dream — something Alexis de Tocqueville referred to as American exceptionalism. For centuries, people have flocked to the United States in hopes to attain the prosperity that this country offers. At a time where political figures and the new generations of Americans are leaning further and further towards the idea of Socialism, it is more important now than ever to remember why the founding fathers of this country worked so hard for to build the foundation of which makes this country so unique. And why so many people died trying to make their way to Ellis Island. Today, a self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist is running…

Do you think America is the land of opportunity for all people? In my personal opinion, it depends on the person, because if you have someone with a lot of passion, they are hardworking; will go after what they want, will not stop till they get it, and then America is the land of opportunity for them. This is because America has much to offer people if they will just work for it. However, if you have someone who gives up easily, will not fight for what they want, don’t want to go get a job, then it is not going to be the land of opportunity for them. Also, I feel like the government takes too much taxes out of people’s paychecks to give to someone who can physically work; but being that they are lazy, they will not get off the couch and go…
