An Analysis Of Alice Walker's Everyday Use
My general reaction to this story was how I noticed that Dee was a unique character. Everyone seems to have an active imagination and believe that they are from multiple places of the world. The story is mainly interpretive; you can easily interpret that theses characters are something else. The title “Everyday Use” has a severe double meaning. To us this it could be a title for a list of things that you could everyday. As far as this story goes Dee saw it as a way to look at an object that she wanted to admire everyday. In the beginning of the story we are told that Dee is coming home from her oh so great life. Both Maggie and Momma are nervous, because of things that have been happening.
