An Accident
It looked as if a storm was approaching. I was standing at a cross-road traffic junction, waiting to cross the road. I have always observed that particular cross-road to be extremely busy, with vehicles constantly on the move. I was headed towards the bus stop across the street, so I turned in the opposite direction of the cross-road to see if my bus was coming.
As I turned back to have a look at the cross-road, I saw a flashy yellow sports car trying to beat the red light. Before I knew it, I heard a thunderous heart-stopping crash. The sports car had slammed head on into a green van right in the middle of the large intersection. Shattered windscreen glass was strewn all over the junction and the passers-by crowded round the scene. I saw one girl rushing to the telephone to report the accident.

For a minute or two, nothing happened. Then, a man got out of the green van. His van was completely smashed in on the side of the collision. He looked shaken and furious. He walked over to the yellow car only to find that the driver was unconscious. Some helpful people went to the middle of the road to help the unconscious man out of his car.

The police and the ambulance arrived at about the same time. They noted down the positions of the vehicles and began asking for witnesses to the accident. I volunteered to give some details since I had seen the whole thing. I did not have time to think about missing my

It was a typical drive to school- fingers tapping on the steering wheel as I sing along with the overplayed pop song playing on the radio station. As I approached an intersection, I saw a dark blue sedan coming from the left, but realized that the driver had a stop sign and I did not. Therefore, I continued driving-still singing and tapping to the rhythm of the song- when suddenly, I found myself slamming on the brakes. My body jerked forward, and I looked up to find the front of my car collided with the dark blue sedan.…

So overall this story may have not been all that stimulating, but it is one of the stories I recall the best. It happened fairly recently and I always laugh when I think of my brother not realizing we had a wreck because he was asleep! I also suspect you may be wondering what happened to the car and if you're not, then your should stop reading this and give me an A, but in all seriousness our beloved family car did survive...for about a month then we traded it in for a grey…

I was first to arrive at the wreckage. It was a head on collision caused by a dust storm. My brother had been slowing down when the Ford truck appeared out of nowhere sitting in the middle of the road. The first thing I noticed was that my brother’s girlfriend was hobbling around with one foot twisted a sick way. She was walking on her ankle and not her foot at all, I had come to realize as I dragged her away from my brother and into my truck. I had to do that because my brother was starting to panic and I couldn’t let him go into shock. I noticed blood on the airbags when I first glanced at the wreckage but thought nothing of it. As soon as she was safe I ran to my brother and he said calmly, “Mac I’m stuck, it’s bad, it’s real bad.”…

About two years ago when I volunteered for china-town policing center, I discerned an extraordinary accident. And I was almost traumatized by the event. It indeed has given me a great lecture for being a safe driver and a disciplined pedestrian. I remembered it was 3pm May 28th afternoon. The day was so nice that our patrol team decided to go for a bike patrol.…

It was all in the southbound lane and we were in the northbound lane, but we just parked there because there’s just people everywhere; they’re just screaming, crying, whatever. I jumped the Jersey barrier and this guy is just FUBAR-ed. He’s still alive; it would have been better if he was just dead, but he died in the back of the ambulance. What we think happened, or appeared to have happened, was that he wrecked his truck and as it was rolling down the interstate; he got ejected. His truck was sitting sideways south of the accident and the weird thing is that some of the bystanders said that right after that happened, he stood up, and then, he got hit 2 or 3 times by other vehicles. He was, for as bad as he was messed up, still moving his eyes, still breathing, and still had a pulse. We boarded him quick, threw him in the back of the ambulance. The medic met up with us. We didn’t leave right away because we had that feeling that he wasn’t gonna make it. It was pretty much a give-me that he wasn’t gonna live. They put him a monitor on him, his pulse was like 20, then went to 16, then like 14, then like 12, and his breathing was getting shallow, and the biggest thing is the color of his skin. It went from red like road- burn to purple and then, it just went white when his pulse hit zero, and then, he died; there was no way to save him. He had a hole the size of a soft ball missing out of the side of his head like right here beside his right eye.…

Within a few minutes, the sound of sirens rushes across the school parking lot. The heat from the pavement causes the emergency vehicles to waver surreally, as if they're an illusion speeding toward me. I stand numbly next to the wreckage as the firefighters hurry forward to free the lady trapped inside her car. The kid who rolled off the side of the bleachers screams as the paramedics lift him onto a stretcher. His leg is twisted at an odd angle. It's definitely broken.…

A few years ago I received my dream car, a dark blue 1967 Ford Mustang with a 302 V-8 engine. Every time I turned the key I was able to hear that engine purr just like a kitten resting on your lap and could feel the glass packs, upgraded mufflers that cause the engine’s sound to amplify, rumble the seats and just add to that lovely sound that could be heard up to a mile away, which I’m sure the neighbors didn’t like.…

I have longed for this getaway from the moment my friends told me of their plans to have us all go to Ghana for the weekend. I packed my bags and got my nails and hair done. Nothing on earth was going to deprive me of a weekend in La Palm Royal Beach Hotel situated on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. We had decided it was going to be a road trip. The thoughts of the nice things usually sold on the road captivated my soul. The several checks at the borders got me upset, but I was prepared for that anyway. We took pictures and kept chatting about all the new things in our lives that we had not shared with one another. We soon got to Bene Republic and it was not hard to tell how different it was from Lagos. More intriguing were the women riding motorcycles. We took more pictures and laughed over it. Just within the twinkle of an eye, our excitement became a nightmare. An accident had just occurred. I saw a man get hit by a car. The strangest thing was that the man did not scream, all was quiet until I heard the dull thump of his body being slammed by the car. The man fell to the ground as if his very bones had become liquid. One moment the man was walking and in just a few seconds, he was crumpled in an ambulance to the mortuary. He died on the…
