Amid Ahab's False Prophets

Prophets are called to speak God's word. A critical piece of their service, which we need to initiate testing of prophecy, just as Elijah did will exposing false prophets. Elijah had several commendable traits, he was still subject to human frailty. This was shown when Elijah ran for his life after receiving the threatening message from Jezebel.
Supplication to God was key to the prophetic service. It fell into place naturally for the prophets and was the lifeline of their service. Prayer to God was their primary method for communication with God and laid at the heart of their own association with God. Amid Ahab's ruling was the consequence of numerous years of degenerate rulers and expansion of maliciousness, until evil filled the area. God
