These are the kinds of things I think about.
My career goal is to serve as a diplomat for the United States, with a focus on our relations with Asia and the Middle East. To accomplish this, I plan to continue to hone my leadership and research skills, interests in international economics and foreign policy, and linguistic talents in Arabic, Chinese, and French during college. Penn is the ideal institution to help me reach this goal.
I am particularly excited by the ability to pursue a major in Economics and a double minor in Chinese and French through Penn’s Economics, East Asian Languages and Civilizations, and Modern Middle Eastern Studies. This unique academic environment will enable me to conduct interdisciplinary research on the economics of U.S.-Chinese competition in Asia and the Middle East, as well as participate in Penn’s study abroad programs in Beijing, China or any of the cities available in the Middle East.

I would like to start out working in jails, talking to criminals and analyzing their brains versus the brain of an average adult to study how the brain reacts with criminal activity and why they do and feel what they do. I have heard that a person can not do that type of work for very long because it is emotionally tasking so after that, I would like to open my own counseling practice up. I would do either marriage and family therapy or focus on teenage depression. Eventually, I would like to retire into school psychology or become a psychology teacher. Also, if I ever have enough money, I will buy a house devoted to taking in stray animals…

Winston Churchill claims, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts” and believes that nothing is final or fatal, but persistence and self-encouragement is ideal to living a successful life. In a broad sense, the American Dream represents self-fulfillment in the aspects of wealth, luxury, love, beauty, and health.
