America Is Failing
The United States of America is not the best country in the world. This is not an opinion but a fact. What makes a country great is measurable. In every category, America is coming up very, very short. If one’s opinion is that the United States is the greatest nation in the world, that definition of greatness is likely stumbled upon by blind patriotism. Not once has the United States proven to be one of the topped ranked countries in the world. Has there ever really been a time of peace, prosperity, or freedom? No. America is not the greatest country on Earth because its economics continue to fail, America shows overpopulated qualities, and America’s school system continues to fail.
Firstly, America is not the best country in the world because it’s economics continue to fail. People have believed that the United States tops the list because of the classic lifestyle and technological advancements portrayed in our daily media. Many immigrants come to America chasing the “American Dream”, the ideal life in America categorized as living a stable life. However, they are unaware of the truth. Most of the population (which more often than not includes immigrants) suffer from earning minimum wage, handle more than 1 job, …show more content…
People may claim to view America as a wonderful land where their children can have a better future. Thus, the parents of these children are relying on America’s public school system, which is a lost cause. Public schools in America are in need of immense help. Education in America is no longer the nation’s bread and butter. According to Shaun King, a writer for the Daily News, “Out of 71 countries evaluated for their math education, the United States placed 38th. For science education, the United States only improved to 24th place in the world.” A study from the World Economic Forum evaluated the top education systems in the world.
