Alternate Ending To Maddison
‘’And when did you decide to take the throne?’’ Maddison asked being very intrigued be the narration. ‘’ When Thor left me in Svartalfheim. Even dead I would deserve a proper burial. Still he left to fight and protect his precious Earth. It was my only opportunity. Father was so distraught by mother’s death that he was easily sedated. My reign was actually genteel and courteous up until Ragnarok. The attack and Thor’s return to Asgard made him notice me and infuriated him. After the battle that saved our realm he was so angry that locked me up again. I completely understand him though I deserved it. I don’t imagine I neglected any details of my life so far. Do you have any questions?’’ Loki stated to Maddison who was staring at him sympathetically.

In The Other Wes Moore, he embellishes upon both his adolescence and the juvenility of another boy whom shared a name as they matured in the same Baltimore neighborhood, however retaining respectively opposed fates. Moore's book delves into the reasons why one boy, the author, thrived in life while the other Wes Moore was overcome by his adversities and will spend a lifetime in a penitentiary. The author elucidates the events in the boys live and its effect on their futurity while subtly implying how child's environment, options, and choice affect one's life in the future.…

Scurrying of muffled feet, shouts of commands in the far distance, coughs here and there, and moans of pain reached the room. The boys fidgeted in discomfort in the sterile environment. Despite how many times they came, they still felt the discomfort. Was it discomfort from seeing all the sick bodies or was it Irene's body that lay on the white bed, frozen, without any sign of movement? Irene's once olive cheeks were now so pale that it would have faded into the bleached pillow if her burnt auburn hair didn't surround her cold face.…

When Perry awoke from her sleep, riddled with unnerving dreams, she felt weak, like the weight of the world was resting on her frail shoulders. She buckled and sat, rigid, on the hard, gelid floor, praying that everything that had happened was a dream, or a hallucination or a horrible trick. It wasn't. The world was gone, her family was dead and she knew that despite her unrivalled efforts, she couldn't reverse what had happened. “DOUDY!”…

Having too much power changes a person. In the movie Avengers, Loki is driven by the power he has and does things he shouldn’t do and then tries to do things he thinks is right at the expense of others, just like Creon from the play Antigone. The play Antigone by Sophocles is about Creon becoming king of Thebes and his first order was to give one of his nephews a proper burial and the other one just leave him out without being buried. Antigone, Creon’s niece disobeys and buries her brother. Creon finds out that it was his niece who disobeyed his first order. He keeps his word about killing whoever disobeyed his order. I am connecting the play Antigone to power because the character Creon has to much power since he is the king. The power he…

Grendel represents the Anglo-Saxons’ greatest fears of being destroyed and forgotten forever. And while today, we are better able to protect ourselves physically from outside terror, the fearful destruction he represents is still present. Grendel, Cain’s descendant, begins his nighttime assault on Heorot hall. He heartlessly kills and often eats the sleeping Anglo-Saxons. The poet recalls this terrible time for the Danes:…

I awoke in the early hours of the morning as usual. The air was thick and wet, but the day’s hunt wouldn’t wait. I got up and stretched my legs before checking the traps I set the evening before. The forest seemed unsettlingly too quiet. Did I wake up earlier than I usually would have? I walked down to the waterhole, to see if any of my nets were filled. There was a soft mist over the shallows, creating an ominous feel. I checked up and down the banks, but my nets had all vanished. With the sounding of the raven’s caw, I decided to head back up to camp. I heard a quick rattle in the leaves due east of my position, so I made haste to draw my bow and hold her steady in firing position. My breath was heavy as the musk in the air poured into my lungs.…

I hastily fled to my newest place of work. I had inhabited the world with a second creation. This demon, though a woman, was more terrifying and hideous than the first. A monstrous creature created only for longing of a new beginning. A world where I would forget this horrible deed I had bestowed upon the universe. I had only promised my first creation a companion, not a family. His companion would never get the chance to conceive, for no more demons will wreak havoc upon mankind. I fled knowing the creature was close looking for what I had promised him.…
