All Writing Is Autobiography
We all have different personalities that are portrayed over social media, but there is always an overlying trend through posts that shows our main persona. In “All Writing Is Autobiography” Murray states, “those of us who write have only a few topics. My poems, the novel I’m writing, and some of my newspaper columns keep returning to my family and my childhood . . .” (67). This is even true on social media, while going through my posts I realized that there are many photos that represent that I love adventure and to travel. Just from this photo you can tell that I am in a tropical place that may or may not be in the United States, which represent my love for travel, but also my post says some more things. I mention that I had just gone zip

In March 2011, I took a few days of classes and received my hunting education certification. Looking back, the actual class time is just a blur of what not to do, but I was reminded of them when I took drivers education last December, with the what not to do teachings. I also remember being very nervous about the test, but having a great feeling when I learned I passed. That October, I remember being immensely excited to go on my first hunt. The night before my dad and I left, I had a parent teacher conference and I remember getting some strange looks in the parking lot because we had a trailer loaded with tents, four wheelers, chairs, and a bunch of other stuff…

My greatest influences are my parents and my brother. My brother suffered from Guillain- Barre Syndrome when he was eight. He lived in the hospital on an artificial ventilation for 97 days and later he had to continue physical therapy for at least ten years as he was completely paralyzed. My parents and my brother devoted their few years completely for his treatment. Today, my brother is a successful engineer working in the bay area. I learned that with dedication, determination and diligence we can achieve our dream in life…

Filled with nervous excitement, my ten-year-old-self ran to the bulletin board eager to discover whether or not he was accepted to the choir. As he read the list of who were chosen, his heart sank; he was not on the list. “Maybe I should give up singing ” he thought; “Maybe my voice is not good enough”. However, he refused to despair; he was determined to achieve his goals despite this failure.…

It has been a long time since I learned to read and write. I grew up in a small town middle of nowhere in Brazil, and I lived in a coffee farm until I was 12 years old. My parents were very simple and uneducated, who lived life to work. I started school at 1st grade level (no kindergarten that time) when I was 6 years old. I don’t remember if I knew any reading or numbers, I think I didn’t know anything about reading and writing. I learned all that in the school. I remember that I learned the alphabet first, then the sounds of the letters, the different sounds of combined letter, consonants, and vowels. Then I started to learn some mixed vowels and consonants, then words. My teacher was nice but she was very strict. When she was in bad mood…

I have been writing for a few years, I started writing stories in the sixth grade. It was my way of escaping reality. I love to write stories about fantasy worlds and life experiences. Asking me to describe myself as alone is a hard question, but asking me to describe myself as a writer is harder one. I am a beginner writer, who has talent but still has improvement to make in every which way. I am very hard on myself when it comes to writing, and every time I write I believe it's horrible. Other's say different. As for a few of my friends say that I write what I feel and my feeling can take several pages. I like to write and I write…

The thirteenth emoji going left to right, that has heart eyes and has its lips perked out is relateable to a part of the book where Jerome and Rory are kissing intensively. On page 200 it states "I started pressing my lips into his cheek - just a hint of a kiss,.....I felt his shoulders release, and he made a little noise that was partly a groan, partly a sigh. He kissed my neck up, up, up to my ear......My body flushed itself with all the good chemicals that it takes to reserve for making out. On page 201 it states " He told me scary Jack the Ripper facts, and I had the sudden need to make out with him until I ran out of breath. I would have continued indefinitely if........."…

I am the eldest of three to a school teacher and professional musician turned deli clerk. I grew up on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. Like most of my classmates, I qualified for free or reduced lunch. It is difficult for families to find any house to rent year-round, never mind a safe one. I remember in one house we weren’t allowed to jump, or run for fear the floor collapsing. I had classmates who didn’t have enough to eat; one of my best friends in middle school was a foster child whose mother struggled with addiction. I was among the few who, though poor, was well cared for and loved by my happily married parents. I believe that in a “civilized” society no one should have to struggle for the most basic necessities. At first, I was not…

Throughout the year, my writing has had significant improvements, compared to where I began. First, I began this semester fairly confident in my writing abilities. I thought that I had a strong grasp on writing concepts that include: transition words, literary devices, proper grammar techniques, correct paper writing format. In contrast, I felt that I began the year with a weak vocabulary, which has always been one of my weaker areas, If I were to rank myself on day one of class, without knowing all of the material we were going to cover, I would rank my writing skills an eight out of ten.…

My writing history is all over the place. I took Honors English my eleventh grade year, and loved it but took AP English my senior year and hated it. Mr. Palmer, who taught honors, was my favorite English teacher. He let us write about whatever came to mind on Fridays, whether we were ranting about classes or just had a fun story to tell. My favorite part about him is that he actually taught me how to write. My AP teacher did not improve our writing but only critiqued it. In my opinion, you can always learn how to write better. Even with being in AP I wish she fixed my writing more than just giving me a grade. More than half our students failed the English exam and the national average was a 2 on a scale of 5. So, within the past year writing…

One thing that has shaped me to become the person writing to you today, is my level of determination to succeed. That probably sounds hollow, because everyone will say that, but let me explain my story. I am not a prideful person or a personal flag waver, so even telling this story is difficult. I cannot say what I am now without showing how I’ve been fighting my whole life to be able to call myself determined.…
