(Marshall, 2013 p. 69) A study was conducted that included 1634 participants that had a history of child abuse and depression in a drug-using community. Out of this group 411 had stated in their life they have had suicidal behavior. Over the course of 5-years there had been 97 reports of suicide attempts among 80 participants. With a specific group of drug users the study found that suicide behavior was more common than that of the general population.
