Abstract

Human resource is a very essential aspect in any organization and hence deserves a lot of considerations. In the airline industry, pilots and cabin crews are very essential as they contribute greatly to the overall performance of the industry. As a result of this, recruitment process of pilots and cabin crews should be carried out fairly and justly as it impacts the performance of the whole company. This study will be guided by a hypothesis stated as recruitment process of pilots and cabin crews in air industry impacts the performance of this industry. The objectives of this study include establishing the importance of fair and just recruitment process and selection of pilots and cabin crew in Air Company. Data will be collected through questionnaire method in order to get adequate and precise information. Information collected will be analyzed form of textual write ups and tables.

1.0 Introduction

Human resource is very important in any organization and hence selection of the best people to undertake organizational duties is considered with absolute care. Organizations usually increase their profitability and productivity when adequate and competent employees are recruited. Human resource is a very important asset of any organization as it determines the satisfactions of customers. When an organization recruits professionals it realizes profitability as these people are skilled and experienced. Well skilled personnel usually bring about customers’ satisfaction.

Organizational productivity and profitability is a goal that all commercial organization desire to achieve. This goal is achieved through different aspects including human resource management. Airline industry is not an exception and hence it struggles very hard to achieve high profits. Among the aspects that bring about high profits is the human resource. It should be noted that employees play a very imperative role in airline industry as they determine the profitability and performance of that industry. According to Bamber (2009: 97), a number of accidents have been experienced in the airline industry because of low performance of pilots.
