Addax Research Paper
The animal I have chosen is the Addax. In my new enclosure for the Addax, there will be many features that not only imperative for the survival of the Addax but it will be comfortable so the Addax in the enclosure will feel at home. The enclosure will feature a place for feeding, sleeping and a place for social interactions with the other addaxes inside the enclosure. Not only will the enclosure be beneficial for the Addax but also for the public as there will be several viewing areas. These viewing areas will help the conservation of the addax as it will help educate the public on the animal.

Part 1
The Addax Nasomaculatus, which is also named the white antelope or the screw horn antelope, is a member of the Animalia Kingdom, Chordata Phylum, Mammalia Class, Artiodactyla Order, Bovidae Family, Hippotraginae Subfamily and the Addax Genus, making its species Addax Nasomaculatus. The Addax is critically endangered with no more than 500 left in the wild.

The tail length is between 25 and 35 cms and they weight of a full grown Addax ranges from 60 and 125 Kgs. Their coat changes depending on the season. It is a brown grey colour in winter and white sandy colour in summer. Although the bridge of their nose and around their mouth is a dark brown colour. Males and females both have horns that have two twists and they measure between 80 and 120 cms. The Addax’s hooves are broad with flat soles and strong claws to help them walk on of soft sand. The Addax can live anywhere from 15 to 25 years in captivity.

The Addax species are found in remote parts of North Africa in the Sahara desert. They prefer desert terrain and stony deserts, semi-desert and dry steppes. They inhabit areas with succulents, Acacia grasses and small bushes as they are
