Adb's Safeguard Policy Essay

According to ADB’s safeguard policy, any development projects have to try their best to avoid, minimize or mitigate negative environmental and socio-economic impacts, including protecting the rights of those likely to be affected or marginalized by the development process. ADB also follows three operational policies for the environment, indigenous peoples and involuntary resettlement. All three safeguard policies comprise a structured process of impact assessment, planning, and mitigation to address the adverse effects of projects during the project cycle.
