Abortion: The Sound Of Massacre, Murder

The Silent Scream “Abortion,” the sound of massacre, murder, and manslaughter. Abortions became legal in 1973 with the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court case. With the legalization of eliminating fetal infants, there are approximately 40-50 million abortions executed in the United States every year. Abortions should be illegal at all phases of pregnancy for the reasons that the fetuses feel pain during the procedure, it can cause psychological harm to the mother, and it is morally fallacious. During an abortion, it has been scientifically shown that the baby can feel the agony of the doctor tearing its body to pieces. “Babies feel pain like adults and they feel it more intensely” (“Abortion”). For example, if one stubs their toe, they will feel it because the sensation goes up to their brain, however there is a return path that decreases the pain so that they do not feel the full affect; a human does not develop this characteristic until the time of birth, so the baby does not get this pain reducer. In an abortion study, the doctor observed that “the child’s mouth opened in a silent scream” during the procedure (“Embryo”). Although the course of action may not cause the mother much physical discomfort, she will be at risk for emotional consequences later on.
