A Raisin in the sun, was the first play by an African American woman to appear on Broadway. The play may be considered as a special one, as most of the actors were all back and the director too. “ seem like God did not see fit to give the Black man nothing, but dreams. But He did give us children to make them dreams seem worthwhile” (I.i.503). The play narrates the truth about a Negro family in the south side of Chicago. A Raisin in the sun, is a commentary on the failure of democracy and it is shown on the Younger’s family.
