anyone lived in a pretty how town was written by e. e. cummings. e. e. cummings is writing about life in a small town and also about happiness. I look at this poem as a form of unconscious delight, which may seem different to others, but it makes me happy. everyone in the small town sits back and does absolutely nothing. the poem is actually about a man named anyone and a Woman named noone. anyone found the love of his life, noone. every part of anyone's life affected her life in some way. one day anyone died and nobody died soon after. the two of them were buried side by side, which showed how strong their love was. no body was supposed to know of their love for each other, but every one did because it was a small town. i believe that cummings was trying to talk about finding true happiness. anyone and nobody were truly happy together, even though they shouldn't have been (according to the town). even after the two of them die, they find happiness together in the after life as they dream together. cummings shows how people can find true happiness, even if it is in a small town. …show more content…

    Anyone Lived in a Pretty How Town by E.E. Cummings tells the life cycle of townspeople and of one unknown couple. The subtle language choices, inverted syntax and use of repetition make this poem stunningly effective. "Anyone" is the protagonist, who is disliked by the "women and men" or "everyones" of the town, because he is different and follows his own routine. This poem tells the love story of Anyone and Noone. "Anyone" is used as a proper noun,this person isn't spoken about as if he were just anyone, and that he appreciated and valued his and Anyone's individuality. Using 'Anyone' as a single specific character reinforces the idea that this person was isolated from the rest of his town.     Our Town

    The play “Our Town” explores the lives of people (primarily two families) living in a small and quiet American town in the 1900’s. In the first act entitled “Daily life”, the narrator did a good job of guiding the audience’s imagination to set up the ideas of a town in the early 1900’s. The lighting and sound cues made that very successful. The lighting was on cue and was very good at setting the scenes (i.e. brighter for morning sunrise). Realistic sets and props were minimal but, the performers pantomimed the majority of the play. The performers did a good job of conveying the imagery use of cooking, opening doors, and eating food. The performers were so believable that your imagination wasn’t very hard to use because things came to sight as if it was really on stage. The costumes of the performers set the age of the play and made you believe that you were in an earlier day and age. In act one, you follow the lives of the Gibbs family and the Webb family. Dr. Gibbs appears hardworking and is soft-spoken. Mrs. Gibbs is good in portraying that her husband is overworked and should take a vacation. Rebecca is George’s little sister. George seems scared or nervous in the delivery of his lines. There is many long pauses before he speaks as if he has forgotten his lines. He wasn’t enthusiastic at all. George seems not to understand or express the character's motivation. In the Webb family, Mr. Webb is great in the delivery of his lines. Mrs. Webb portrays a strict but loving mother. Emily Webb their daughter is very bright and hopeful. Wally Webb is her younger brother. When Emily and George are talking to each other at their windows, he seems to forget his words. Without a stellar Emily, the emotional potential is lost. The cast seems as if it was dead before act three of the funeral. Act two is about love and marriage. This scene reflects the love between George and Emily. In act two, Emily rises as the star of the play. She is very clear in her words and motivated.…

    Cummings effectively makes this poem into a song through clever uses of punctuation and flair, which help the song flow like a song should in parts . For instance, when he uses the accented ‘é’ in “wellbelovéd”, it adds a subconscious musical note to the rhythm of the piece. Furthermore, the lines “straightway the silver bird looked grave/(departing hurriedly to shave)” (17-18) provides another example of Cummings’ ability to create a song out of a poem. An example of a more traditional flow in this poem is when he writes “Olaf(upon what were once knees)/does almost ceaselessly repeat/“there is some shit I will not eat”” (28-39), which contains too many syllables to fit into a conventional song’s rhythm, so these lines are interpreted as a poem rather than a song. The entirety of this poem is written in an unusual form of meter called iambic tetrameter. This meter has a very strict pattern, which Cummings uses to represent the strictness of military orders, and.     My native town is Mandalay it’s also well-known as a culture city of Myanmar. Mandalay is Upper Myanmar's main commercial, educational, health centre and considered the centre of Burmese culture. Mandalay is Located in the central dry zone of Myanmar and on the east bank of the Irrawaddy River. Its also surrounded by Sagaing Hill, Shan Yoma Hill, Kyut Sae Hill and Mandalay Hill. My native town is the second-largest city and the last royal capital of Myanmar. King Mindon founded Mandalay and the royal palace, Mya Nan San Kyaw as a new capital at the foot of Mandalay Hill in 1857. When it was founded in 1857, the royal city was officially named Yadanabon which means "The City of Gems". King Mindon also founded the Kuthodaw Pagoda, the Thudhamma Zayats and the library for the Buddhist scriptures. I'm always proud the glory of Mya Nan San Kyaw Palace and Mandalay Kyone. That's a trademark of my native town. Mandalay is famous with the places such as Maha Muni Pagoda, Kyauktawgyi Pagoda, Kuthodaw Pagoda, Shwenandaw Monastery and Atumashi Monastery. Mandalay is Myanmar's cultural and religious centre of Buddhism, having numerous monasteries and more than 700 pagodas. That show my native town is very devout in Buddhist religious. Moreover, Mandalay is well-known in the world by The World's Biggest Book, located in Kuthodaw Pagoda and U Paing Bridge. Most of the famous authors and artists in Myanmar were emerged from Mandalay and they served our traditional culture not to disappear and created new cultural tradition to our generations.
