My parents talked to the breeder for what felt like ages. We finally got to see all of the dogs that they had. The room that the puppies were in had a crib, and dog beds. I saw some very, very little puppys, I really wanted them all. The one that we chose, was hiding under the crib. We named him Poncho after the parent's name.…

The social problem this movie portrays is a very old problem. It is coupled by fear of the unknown and acceptance of each other as human beings with differences. These differences stem from a lack of understanding of race, culture, customs, and religious beliefs of societies. The beauty of literature is its ability to teach the reader valuable lessons about the world. These lessons are relevant to life, because the themes in many books are based on reality. Although narratives are fictitious, they have been shaped using views from real life, allowing the composer to communicate important and relevant messages. Readers will respond to stories in many different ways, but through an engaging text, they will learn valuable lessons to put into practice in reality. Well-written narratives challenge their readers to reconsider society's views and their own perspectives on particular issues. The audience is positioned to understand how much a personal opinion can be based on society's views. The novel "The Story of Tom Brennan" uses the profound story of the Brennan family to encourage her teenage audience to think critically about the consequences of drink driving and rash decisions. It also offers an insight into the grieving process, demonstrating ways of dealing with adversity and emphasising that accepting support is the best way to recover from grief. When one writes a piece of literature with the ability of choosing what to write, one is unable to prevent putting their own self into it. Depending on how well the person knows he or herself, with experiences that are unique or even relatable will determine how well their piece will impact the world. One does not want to read textbooks that are all factual, unless forced too, they want to read stories within a event. The interest goes deeper than just the surface, we may not realize it, but we crave for information. We tend to want to know more than we need or should, but that curiosity drives us to places we wouldn’t expect to find ourselves. Whether the place is good or bad, we are to deal with it the best we can. John Steinbeck capitalizes…

Hi! I’m Ramona, the Cocker Spaniel from Iowa, named after the Beverly Clearly books. When my mom takes me shopping with her - like all the freaking time - everyone tells me how sweet and pretty I am. I mean, I love the attention and pets - my butt wiggles like it’s nobody’s business - but I kinda feel odd when they tell me I’m sweet. Cause I’m not. I’m Sassy, Mouthy, Rambunctious, and oh boy do I have a temper! Mom says I’m “stress reactive” or something like that. I just know that when I get REAAAALLY excited, I can’t contain myself so I get a little snarky and snarly.…

Max was my best friend. He was a very lively golden retriever with a golden brown body and a white chest. My father got the dog before I was born, and just when he meets my mom. I remember feeding him table scraps and my mom getting mad because he shouldn’t have table scraps. When I was 3 years old he would snuggle with me before I went to bed, but after I got a bunk bed then he would just sleep on the floor of my room. My sister didn’t really get to see him much because he was still a baby when he had to be put down.…

While writing this literacy narrative I felt confident that I would be able to complete the task as a book has very well effected my life. However, I did have some trouble starting the essay, which in every essay I have similar issues with, but once I get the hang of things I immediately adjust to the flow and keep writing. Deciding on the book that affected me the most was difficult to choose, as I had so many. Eventually I decided to write about the first time I became fully engulfed in a book. Choosing the novel Animal Farm was the perfect novel to chose as it is my favorite and most inspiring novel I ever read. The only thing I worried about, was that when writing this essay, I didn’t want to spoil the novel for whom ever reads my essay.…
