The dictionary defines a vacation as a period of time to pause from work, study, or additional activities. Also can be defined as a time period for relaxation, leisure, recreation, or traveling. Now as the definition for vacation suggests, a vacation can be idealized in two different practices. One method a person who is considering on taking a vacation where they can relax, might possibly consider a luxurious vacation to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Formerly the contrasting style of vacation would be an exhilarating and adventurous one, like backpacking through the Arizona National Scenic Trail.

An individual would pick to vacation in Punta Cana, to relax for an extensive amount of reasons. These are comparable to enjoying the sunshine in the tropical climate, some of the world’s most luxurious hotels, exotic scenery and wild life, and seemingly endless miles of white sand beaches. Tropical climates have an effect on the human brain that gives people the impression of feeling euphoric and healthy when people from a temperate region of the world visit. One of the greatest backpacking trails in the United States of America would be the Arizona National Scenic Trail. This journey through the Arizona National Scenic Trail stretches over eight hundred miles, and considered as one of the most daunting and scenic backpacking trails in America. Individuals who take a vacation backpacking through the Arizona National Scenic Trail looking for freedom from their everyday lives, obtain stories through life experience, and an opportunity to redefine who they are as an individual. When individuals are backpacking everything they own is carried on their back, hence the name backpacking. Backpacking generates an unbelievable emotion and sensation of freedom and lack of restrictions. Individuals backpacking will discover new experiences, and are faced with innovative challenges every day. Bryson and his friend, Katz set out for a journey, their main intentions being to complete the Appalachian trail, and reconnect with nature. Throughout their journey, Bryson and Katz experience grueling days of long hikes and stormy weather, sometimes reaching below zero.
