A/B Personality Type
Ever since I was younger, I have always known I wanted to be a special education teacher. I love to work with disabled people and help them in any way possible. In my career education class I have used many research methods and learned of other possible career possibilities. I have looked at my other career options but I still believe that being a special education teacher is the best choice for me. I have also considered being a social worker and a counselor. These two careers interest me but are not what I am passionate about, therefore I am going to continue to pursue my dream of special education.

After taking my A/B personality test, I discovered that I am a type A Personality type. This personality type means the people in

This test gave me three career options based on my results. I got the results of extrovert feeler judger and intuitive. I was provided with the careers of a teacher, child welfare worker or an occupational therapist. I was given these options because a person with this personality type tend to like having decisions made and matters settled before moving on to another task but can be overly involved and overlook real problems and their needs. This personality type gives people a real understanding of how others may see them in their workplace so they can make a good decision on a career that is right for …show more content…
I received kinesthetic, interpersonal and linguistic. a kinesthetic person learns best through hands-on approach. These people may be active and enjoy participating in sports teams. They enjoy actively exploring the physical world around them. People with interpersonal traits put themselves in the shoes of other people. Meaning they see things from the others point of view in order to understand how they think and feel. These people tend to be more caring and kind towards other people. They may be interested in careers that help people. Lastly, linguistic people enjoy speaking to others. This means they have highly developed auditory skills and are generally elegant speakers. They may enjoy talking and telling stories, as well as debates and conferences. Having these qualities some career choices may be a teacher, counselor or a physical education teacher.

The career clusters test was different because a career cluster is an organizational tool that link education with business and industry through sixteen broad career clusters. After taking the test I got the results of education and training, human services, and marketing sales and services. I then took the interest profiler portion of the test and was given many career options. After assessing my options I chose, special education teacher, child family and school social worker or a child care

I must say that I do agree with the results of the test, but there are some aspects of it that I feel to be untrue. In general, I have to always stay busy and involved with various activities. I like being around people, leading, teaching and stimulating others into positive performances. I also like to act on things as opposed to just talking about it. Other people view me as having an outgoing personality. I also am able to relate to and have friends from all walks of life. On the other hand, I am one who does have to think things through, plan ahead, and am very structured (with things in order). I think that I am more a Sensing personality than a Intuitive one. I am more practical and a more hands on individual. Meaning, I often use and trust my experience before words and symbols. (Humanetrics.com, 1998-2011)…

The first personality test I took came from Module 2: the Type A/B Personality Test. After answering the twenty questions, my score was 242 which scored high for Type A personality. I was not shocked when I read the results since I know that I can be uptight, worrisome, and orderly. For instance, I record all upcoming future events in my calendar yet I worry that I will forget these future events. My worrisome nature coincides with the…

The Briggs Myers four personality trait dimensions are one way to categorize the personality types of different people. According to Briggs and Myers, there are four categories in which your personality type is determined. Each category has two options: Introversion versus extraversion, sensing versus intuition, thinking versus feeling, and judging versus perceiving. First I will focus on the “introvert versus extrovert” category. An introverted person is typically more focused on their inner world and they prefer focusing in depth on specific interests. Writing tends to be the preferred method of communication for an introvert. They may also be more private and enjoy reflecting on ideas. An extrovert, on the other hand, is more attuned to…

There is not a better job than being a teacher. As a teacher, I have an opportunity to make an impact in the life of every child I encounter. As an effective teacher, I know that all children have different learning abilities. In our schools today, there are special education students that are not getting the same opportunities as general education students. One of the reasons a special education student may not be getting those opportunities is the teacher lacks the skills, needed to teach special education students.…

The first characteristic I received was social, this is the interest of working with people to help them with a variety of needs, such as, educational, physical or mental. This was my highest attribute, and I can see why because I very much enjoy helping individuals with any situation that arises. This trait will be very beneficial in occupational therapy because I will have to be able to interact on a daily basis caring for people’s needs. I will use this characteristic to connect to an individual on different levels and will allow me and my patient to have meaningful connections with each other. In addition, social skills come into play when communicating efficiently with the patient. I am going to have to explain why we are doing a certain…

In George H. Jenson and John K. DiTiberio 's article titled, “Personality and Individual Writing Process” they compare someones personality to that of their writing process. Through this examination, Jenson and DiTiberio, come to realize that while teaching the writing process, teachers, professors or whom ever is instructing this process should take into consideration the individuals personality types. Determining the students personality can help prevent things like writers block when it comes to writing a paper or article. Once the individuals personality type is determined then steps can be made to individualize writing instruction.…

Characteristically, I’m humble and unassertive. Due to my personality type, I value my personal relationships yet am very reserved towards new people: “Because they are quiet, people sometimes misinterpret this as standoffish behavior.” (Cherry) I rarely disclose personal information unless it’s to one of my few best friends. My personality type tends to be focused on our surroundings and can relate details to our personal experiences. I’m a compassionate listener and remember details about individuals. This will help me in pursuing my future career as a counselor. I enjoy hearing facts about others while making a connection with them.…
