On January 12 I finished 2 hours at Holman Middle School in two days by cutting out paper. While cutting out the paper it was two other students Shaniya and Derrick. I was cutting out the 3 leaf clovers, While Derrick and Shaniya was cutting out different color hearts. Latter I figure out that it was used for evaluate improvement for the whole school.
On March 18 I finished 1 hour in P.E by changing the sheets for the track team. I had to cross out the event on one side because they weren’t going to the event because they weren’t on the list. Then on the other side I marked it out on the calendar. Close to the end of class Diamond had helped me because I wasn’t going to finish. But with help I got it done.
On March 21 I finish 2 hours at NHC Maryland Heights, I filled 1,000 eggs with the

On March 26 I finish 2 in a half hours at NHC Maryland Heights, I help host the Easter festal. First I help making the food but then I went to a different station because it was moving slow. Then I passed out toys to the kids after the Easter egg hunt was over, it was one every 30 minutes. Also I helped passed out the prizes if they had got one in there egg. I did that all day into it was time for me to go.
I did a total of 12 hours and it was lots of work but overall it wasn’t that bad after all. And it’s always nice to do something if anyone doesn’t pay you, its about the kindness you have. I hope to go back to NHC Maryland Heights for community service in high

Volunteering for service hours changed my outlook on life. I worked with the Hydrocephalus Association in both eleventh and twelfth grade. The Hydrocephalus Association focuses on three things community, clarity, and cure. Hydrocephalus is a condition defined by an abnormal, excessive accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within the cavities of the brain. Some people with this condition can live a normal life being unnoticeable while other have difficulties. The association works on awareness to find a cure, clarity in helping families further understand the condition, and a community which will always be supportive. Service hours can sometimes be a hassle but once I started volunteering with that association it became fun because I was…

I remember going Easter egg hunting in the park with my grandma, aunt, and my two brothers. People were screaming because they were happy. It was an amazing feeling to give to the community in that way. I was selected as the master of ceremony for our yearly Veterans Day Assembly this year also. It was an honor to be able to lead the assembly and make sure that the veterans were honored for their true acts of bravery. Also through National Honor Society, I planned a Red Out at a basketball game, a Cardiac Ball, and a 3-on-3 tournament in order to spread awareness and collect donations for the American Heart Association. We ended up raising 2,000 dollars for such a great cause!…

I wasn't too disappointed when I was served 15 hours of community service. I understood at this point that what I had done wasn't okay and I deserved community service. I chose to make my time up at the boys and girls club. I did this because I know the time I spent there would be appreciated by the staff and children. After making my time up I still had a feeling of guilt because I know I can never take back what I did, but I had a sense of relief and felt like a better person at the end of the…

Throughout high school we have always been tasked with different materials to read; whether it be Shakespearean texts, short stories, poems, or just books in general. No matter what though, I love to read. So any text I take in, I am always eager to absorb the words. The texts I have read at the time may have just felt like assignments, but now as I am older, I can see the lessons to be learned within them and how they were a major aspect as to how I view situations in the world around me. I cannot pick a favorite text that I have read throughout my grades nine to twelve years, but I will review a few that made an impact on me.…

I joined a community outreach program where we went to a surrounding town’s housing complex and helped the kids after school with homework. I worked with a student, who when I started was in kindergarten, his name was Jordian. When I first started going he could barely sit still in a chair, he could barely count 5 and was not close to reading. When I left my senior year he would come in and mostly everyday sit and start his homework. He was now adding without much difficulty and starting to learn multiplication. During reading time he would sit down and work on his reading. Helping the kids not only learn but make a positive impact on their lives is something I will keep with me forever.…
