Pros of clipping
The positives of clipping are that it is quicker than other methods of grooming and is much easier. If wire-haired Dogs are clipped, their hair is also left softer and silkier afterwards.
Cons of clipping
If used incorrectly, clippers can leave unsightly lines across the Dogs body and will also leave a wirehaired

The plus sides of using stripping knives are that they are easier to use than completing the handstripping method, and is a much quicker method of grooming- as it removes multiple hairs at one time. Cons of using a stripping knife
However, the downsides of stripping knife are that they are much less accurate, and you have to be practised at using the equipment. If you use stripping knives incorrectly, you can break or split the hair, instead of pulling it out directly from the root (as it is intended to be used).
